New BMW X5 M and X6 M The X5 M shares its engine with the X6 M, a 4.4l unit that develops 555 horsepower and 680 Nm, making it able to reach 60 mph (100 km/hour) in 4.7 seconds. The top speed of the X5 M and X6 M is 250 km/hour (155 mph). The new V8 Twin Scroll turbocharged engine makes use of a common exhaust manifold joining both rows of cylinders, with the turbochargers, as well as with the catalytic converters placed in the V-section. This provides less turbo lag and a swifter response. The engine fitted on the two new Ms is controlled via a six speed sports automatic gearbox with Steptronic. Gear shifting in done by using the electronic gear select lever or by the shift paddles located on the steering wheel. The vehicles are rated as having a combined fuel consumption rate of 13.9l/100 km (17 mpg) – urban 19.3 l/100 km (12 mpg) and highway 10.8 l/100 km (22 mpg). And if this doesn’t scare tree huggers away, CO2 emission will, as they are rated at 325 g/km. http://www.autoevolution.com/news/bm...ails-5551.html |

They followed the footsteps of AMG...sigh |
Funny thing is, these pieces of shit will sell like hotcakes to hongers and mainlanders in Richmond. "Yay my oversea husband/dad who owns a factory bought me a car because it's the most fucking expensive of the X5/X6 series, what the fuck does ///M stand for anyways? Also I will proceed to park crocked and diagonally in parking lots. Also the car will never be fucking washed by myself or if I do wash it, I will be sure to use a scotch guard and some bleach detergent. I will also proceed to lower this bitch and install 30 inch chrome wheels and plaster the entire dash and rear windows with fucking stuffed toys that will completely hinder my view of the road, a handicap worsen by the fact that my eyes can be blindfolded by dental floss and that my hair is fucking down to my shoulder be it male or female. Then I'll make sure to tootle around in Richmond during "snowstorms" on summer tires and crash because I'll be thinking AWD is fucking invincible and will save me from any fucking situation and terrain that I happen to come across, even blackice." tl;dr These cars will be bought by people who knows fuck all about cars and only drive them for a fucking pricetag/status. |

You do realize, as disgraceful as it may be, the Cayenne and the X5/6 fill the coffers for Porsche and BMW? The profit margins on M cars (and Turbo Porsches) are HUGE. The price is almost double a base model. It raises the image of the whole brand. If someone wants to buy it for the image, let them, it just means that there will be a mint good condition one left used for the rest of us. |
Next on the list, X3 ///M then BMW will self implode into a ball of flames and the entire universe will cease to exists because of the cosmic singularity formed by this freak accident. |
meh somehow I think these M SUVs will pull their Motorsport image |
Interior all the same every year. |
Coming to a richmond bubble tea near u! |
I'm trying to understand why some of you are so choked that BMW released these models. Do you believe they are indebted to you in some way? If a model doesn't appeal to you, they've some how failed you? Or the general public? Regardless, BMW's a business. If there's business to be made in selling high-powered SUVs, just like selling high-powered sedans, then why shouldn't they do it? |
