Study in Europe FOR FREE?

So I've heard from a friend of mine that there are programs from European universities that offers FREE education and housing for international students. I can't seem to find one place that mention these programs but there are a lot of references to individual universities, mostly in Germany, Sweden etc.

So does anyone know where I can get more info?

Thx!

Well I've heard it's free for international student for education AND housing... apparently my buddy's friend went already but I haven't got an update yet.

At places I've searched it says there is a condition that the students have to work for their stay and study. IMO that's even better then I get EU work experience.

Everything sounded too good to be true at first but it is looking promising.
I've wanted to continue my design study (Interior Design) in Italy or somewhere close, besides I've never been to Europe and it seem like an awesome place with great culture and great economy. I will finish my program in BCIT in June, so I will need to plan my next step.

Wow I would love to do that. I've been to Europe as well.

The only problem is I'm an accounting major - meaning I'd have to learn Canadian law.

Way cool though.

I studied in South Korea for free. Free dorm, free tuition, $800 for airfare and $150 given per week for expenses. Just had to pay for food.

The website says its for a master's program?

What about a Bachelor's? I'm heading towards a CGA or CA in Accounting.

Also can you go there for just one semester? That would be tight to pick up again in September and go for just one semester.

If it is through UBC, you have to pay UBC tuition for that year. ie no extras. You can do it half a year or a year.. 3rd year and up. You also have to have a minimal GPA I think at least 80%?

Scandinavian universities offer free tuition for your first degree (could be medicine / law / whatever), provided you have Swedish, Danish, Finnish or Icelandic citizenship. You do realise their sales tax is hovering around 30% right?

There are tons of foreign students from Australia/ Europe at UBC.. just hang out at Fairview... they come to UBC because 1. it is easy, so plenty of time to party 2. there are plenty of things to do.

Unless you're planning on doing it as an exchange program through your existing University, you'll find that it will be almost impossible to get into an all English program. Numbers for those are very limited as the majority of the seats are held for exchange students. As well, I'm not sure where you read the free housing but from what I've read you still need to pay for it. The other issue is getting a student visa. Swedish schools let you know you've gotten in very late, compared to here, leaving you almost zero time to get a Swedish student visa. While it would be freakin' awesome going to school for "free," especially at a university like Lunds, it will be nigh-high impossible to get in.

Yeah turns out it's a Master Degree program... which I'm not qualify...

BCIT does have exchange program to Italy, and apparently those are ALL sub-programs of a EU program called Lifelong Learning Programme 2007–2013.

I'm not sure if I am qualify for any before 2013~ ERASMUS is still the easiest way.

I might just have to stick to my old plan and get NCIDQ, and hopefully get another Degree while working.

It doesn't matter if you're applying for a Master's or Undergraduate program, they're all free. The only real issues are the ones I brought up in my prior post.

Friend of a friend of mine went with Math major from UBC.

Regarding language I'm learning German. Not that I can communicate with it yet but that would open up more possibilities.

Oh well...
