The poor fool holding the camera probably has no idea how close he was to losing his beloved pet cat.

Too true - cat's probably a little heavy for the eagle to get very far with, but that still likely wouldn't stop the eagle from trying if he was hungry enough.

My grandfather fought an eagle for a trout once. Was out fishing on our lake, reeling in a nice big rainbow, when one of the local baldies swooped in and grabbed the fish. Fortunately the hook was in solid and Grandpa won the battle, but the fish had huge talon scars down its sides. We had a picture of it, I think Mom still has it stored away somewhere.
