Need opinions on the 2009 Audi A4

Does anybody here have a 2009 Audi A4?

I am interested in the 2.0T quattro premium and am wondering what experiences board members may have with the car.

The new 2.0T is more powerful, gets decent fuel economy, and I'm really digging the new look for '09.

Kang19 04-11-2009 01:45 AM

Don't think it's worth it unless you get quattro...and I don't think u can even get the LED's unless you get quattro.

Edit: oh, and you are getting quattro, so yes, the car is unreal.

jaemc 04-11-2009 08:47 AM

=D get one get one get one!

dogeatcookie 04-11-2009 10:10 AM

Haven't heard of/seen such a defect...you're probably just seeing the same car everytime...

Were the cars turning? On the new models, I believe one headlight will go off while the turn signal indicator is on. I saw one like this and remembered some manufacturers do this as it's supposed to improve visibility.

If you set your car to AUTO headlight setting, when you run LEDs only a signal light will turn off that side's LED. However, if you want to keep the LEDs on on both sides, then set your headlight setting to the DRL one.

i think changing codes with vag-com could disable the LED shut off when the turn signal is on

the appearance of the steering wheel blows. get the sport package its well worth it

o0o0o.. maybe it was turning. not sure.. I'll be sure to remember that when I buy my R8

Thanks for the replies guys.

th4i, it's a nay on the sport package unfortunately. The car would not be for myself but a family member. They probably wouldn't appreciate the improvements in handling nor do they want to do mandatory winter tire changes due to summer tires.

jaemc, you know of any upcoming deals in the works for the A4? I know that there are special financing rates out, but what about cash purchase discounts or the like?
Is there any way I could get the backup sensor/camera without the nav package?

Thanks

Very good car imo
handles even better if your have the dynamic steering control

i don't know about the performance of the car since i've never been in one, but i do know it looks really good.

Whoa! These things are hella expensive!

I just configured a 3.2 FSI 265hp A4 Quattro with S-line package + 19" wheels(the 17" doesn't look as nice) and for $3 800?! WTF IS THIS!

I didn't add Audi Drive Select, cause I don't exactly know what it is lol and my total comes to $54 700 CDN before taxes..

That's hella rip....considering the BMW 335i is 300hp and is roughly the same as it starts at $48, 900 vs. the A4 Quattro 3.2 FSI at $50, 000

Then theirs the 2.0T's with 211hp, I know hp is just numbers but it starts at 45k compared to the 328i with 230hp starting at 39k

Anyone like to chime in? Are Audi's higher price reasonable?

Edit: When Audi says Tiptronic, is it the new dual-clutch system or is it just normal steptronic? I think it was called the DSG?

bob_chan 04-11-2009 07:56 PM

From what I understand, the 3.2 FSI is going to be phased out soon as the new 2.0T generates MORE torque over a broader RPM range than the V6. I was looking at the BMW's as well, but I think we want fuel efficiency in the car as well, so the 2.0T satisfies that. Even the 323i has worse fuel consumption than the 2.0T not to mention the 328 or 335.

One other car I tested was the 335d which I must say is an absolutely amazing car. The 428 lb/ft of torque put a smile on my face every time I planted my foot down, whether for merging onto the highway or just pulling away from the stoplight. The car is also amazingly fuel efficient, being an oil burner. However, I was slightly put off by the 50k base price that doesn't even include leather! Nonetheless amazing car indeed.

Audi's base prices all start at slightly higher points but they also include a higher level of standard equipment from what I've seen so far.

threezero 04-12-2009 09:39 AM

look amazing especially in black.

good if u are going for the looks, bad if you are after best performance for the buck.

LanEvoMR 04-12-2009 10:54 AM

the only thing going for it is the LED's and the interior.....performance-wise it sucks

monkeywrench 04-12-2009 11:08 AM

but you gotta admit the quattro is hella fun

shenmecar 04-12-2009 11:08 AM

i find the led's too overused now.

WHEYsted 04-12-2009 11:33 AM

Maybe the S4 Coupe?

If your going to compare the A4 w/ quatro and the 3.2 shouldn't you compare it w/ the 335i w/ x drive? a full featured one of those is 62.7k before taxes. Not trying to be a dick, just saying compare apples w/ apples.
