they made a seemingly insignificant product a big deal. this is the type of novelty the japanese tend to enjoy. you might remember a thread on the 1/4 pounder when it was introduced recently in japans mcdonalds food chains. they made it seem like something extremely top secret was going to be unveiled, with people dressed up as body guards around the mcdonalds places, and a lot of advertising to go with it. on the day it came out, people lined up for blocks just for this burger....
