Sabine drives the new 911 |
Of course it would not "look it" biggest changes ever! Thats pretty thoughtful of them to flash the rear lights when the car is sliding. |
Nice video. She can drive. I like how she says all the great stuff about the transmission, but because of the shift direction, she says she's going to get the manual. |
what's going on with the tailights? are they strobing? |
I think the brake lights strobe, so they are more noticeable. The probably go solid after awhile, but the initial strobe helps other people driving behind the car notice it. |
she has some balls to drive like that in the snow =P |

Dunno then! All I know, is that I like Sabine with longer hair! |
The tail lights are LED. They do not strobe. It's the effect of filming and the refresh rate. It's the same thing when you film a computer monitor and can see the screen flickering. |
PDK's ways of shifting ruined itself.. it is a good transmission though... whats with porsche's marketing people..?? (even the stock mazda 3 has a proper +/- shifter) |

I don't know about other folks, but I fell in love with her after I saw her go around the Nurburgring in a Ford Transit van. |

I guess in a lot of those scenes, the PSM activates the active brake lights. But there are some cars that when filmed, appear to have flashing tail lights even under normal driving. Check out the veyron at about 44 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEL5A...eature=related |

An LED is not essentially a diode, it is a diode. But what are you trying to get at? How is there any particular difficulty with accomplishing a strobe effect just because it's a unipolar element? What does multiplexing have to do with whether or not an LED can be flashed? What is this "current shifting" you speak of? I can't see this needing anything more than an integrating amp, a switch, and a schmidt trigger. So what is that, like two op-amps, a MOSFET, a cap, and like four resistors? You could pick all that off a floor. Not that hard to generate a square pulse out of DC. |
