Potential Flat tire?

So today after parking my car i noticed something shiny sticking out of my tire. It kinda looked like a pimple. Well, it's a nail. So I did a air pressure test and saw that there is no air loss. Then I did the bubbly water test, and no bubbles.

I'm unsure if this is just a very short nail that did not puncture all the way through or whether it is the nail helping to hold the air in. Should I take out the nail and see, or wait and hope nothing changes for the next couple of days until I have time to take it over to for Kal Tire?

just drive until you have time to have the nail pulled and tire patched

if it does go flat, thats where the spare tire comes in

just repair it yourself. Costs less than $10 and it's easy to do.

Go buy the stuff at Canadian Tire, or you can let them do it for you.

^ that shit damages the wiring in the tire or something and then it fucks with the tire and could possibly be dangerous- thats what my mechanic says and he works at mitas so i got the tire patch for free! lol but yeah i think they only charge like 30bucks to patch it up and they do it properly. why risk it- before this though i always used the canadian tire one lol

i heard tire shops are no longer able to plug it

they have to remove the actual tire from the wheel, patch it on the inside, then mount the tire again

then again, i only "heard " that

Yeah go to a shop to get it properly patched. Don't just plug it.

Plugging is illegal. Any most legit shops willl not even plug it. The proper way is to patch it from the inside.

Its fine to leave it in there and wait till you can take it to Kal Tire especially if its not leaking, it'll just be annoying because you'll hear the thing click with every rotation.

And if the mofos at Kal Tire don't do it for free, its because they're being douches.

you need to find a sexy friend and show them some meat and maybe they'll do it for free...

why would they do it for free you probably didn't buy the tires from them anyway.

Good Business maybe?
I think most places do it for free
I've had a puncture and taken it to places in the US and Canada and they have all done it for free.

Plugging a tire is illegal but most shops do it anyways. On the other hand, there are shops that will only do patches. Patching is the better way to go though imho.

I got a tired patched at Kal tire on Boundary a while back and it's leaking =[... actually it was leaking since they first patched it, just that the car was out of commission so I was too lazy to take it back hah. I got charged too! You guys think they'll repatch it for free if I bring it back? Would they have it on record that they did the last patch up on that tire?

If they entered you in the system with your name plate number all that, then yeah they'll have the records and of who did it too. =P

Kal Tire's policy is they won't charge on flat repairs if you bought tires from them at any time in the past. They are suppose to do it for free regardless if you bought the tires from them,as good will and hoping that people will buy shit off of them later. If they charged you its for one of many reasons.

1. The managers cheap and wanted to make a quick buck to meet his GP.
2. You were a douche and they felt like charging you.
3. You had an 30 series 22" tire with tpms, reverse mounted Ferrari Rim.

And as long as you say that you bought the tires from them (as long as its like a brand they carry) then they'll do it for free. Or if you ask them "its free right?" then they're just stuck doing it for free lol.

i don't think they will charge you. Just don't go in expecting it for free and consider it a bonus if they really don't charge you. It's not an official/advertised deal.

They did not charge me when I did it from the Rich'd Centre location so I bought them a box of TH donuts to thank them. I also went to them this season to swap my tires. They charged $8 each so I let them do it instead of risking my back injury on myself.

$24.99 at cdn tire + tax

no charge if tire bought from them (5 years warranty)
no charge if tire non repairable

195 50 16 is a bitch to dismount and mount though
