your not just altering the waist but the way the entire jeans fit the legs, etc

i would just cut your losses and get a new pair

costs about 34 dollars at the place in richmond centre. depending on the brand/design of the jeans determines how much you might lose after being altered.

When you take in the waist, you will ultimately alter the whole fit of the pair of denim. It is not recommended.

Btw, what brand/cut are they?

I think altering about one inch would be fine, but more would ruin it
