Fatal Motorcycle crash last night in MapleRidge

This happened on 222nd just off Lougheed Highway on the Haney bi-pass, I witnessed the aftermath, conflicting witness accounts, some were saying a person in a wheelchair was trying to cross and the guy swerved to avoid and lost control at a high speed and flew off his bike and hit a pole while his bike slid down the highway, the other one that heard was that a truck slammed into him, also whats really messed up, the guy was laying face first on the ground after w/ helmet still on, some guy ran up to him and was about to turn him over while people around were screaming "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH HIM!!" and this moron does it anyway despite over 5 people yelling to not do it. Someone was also saying that a person that knew him was saying that he JUST got insurance that day and that was his first ride on his 08-09 Honda CBR RR 600. I think also he was less than 20 yrsold.

RIP...not the way to open the warmer season.....
those that ride bikes... please ride safely... those that don't, keep an eye out for those that do.

that person that touched the rider just opened themselves to possible civil suits by the family i am pretty sure...

Yet another rider death. RIP.

SkinnyPupp 04-22-2009 07:42 PM

That's quite a bike to be going on your first ride on! Put your ego in check guys, learn how to ride before getting your dream bike!

Shit man....RIP

While I'd never wish death upon anyone... I give no sympathy whatsoever to those who kill themselves WHILE SPEEDING.

To all those of you who disagree with the phrase "Speed Kills", please learn from this poor idiot's mistake and try not to kill yourself this summer. Slow down. It ain't worth it.

If you want to speed.. take it to Mission Raceway.

Raid3n 04-22-2009 11:25 PM

street legals open up this friday, weather permitting.

But speeding is fun.

Yeah, why would you have no sympathy to people who die while speeding? You are saying that we should all spit on your body if you die in a car accident? Every single person who holds a drivers license speeds all the time, every day. Some people just dont have much common sense in knowing when and where to do it correctly. The thing with common sense is, it just isnt that common.

people do speed, but what's your point? it's clear this guy didn't have any common sense. which means he's about as sharp as a butter knife. which means i'm not gonna feel bad that he's off the roads.

really that simple.

Iceman-19 04-23-2009 07:11 AM

Did you know him? People make mistakes, have a lapse in judgement, etc. Just because witnesses say he was speeding, does not mean he was excessively speeding. Maybe he was in a low gear, rpms high, people associate loud with going fast, how many times have you seen posts here bitching about people giving them the brown eye for speeding when they were at the speed limit, but their exhaust is loud? If he did swerve to avoid some guy in a wheelchair, why was the guy in the wheelchair crossing the road without a walk signal? If he was hit by a truck, guy in the truck needs to learn how to check the road to make sure it is clear before entering.

So you've never, ever pointed any vehicle you've owned down a highway and floored it for a bit just for the sheer freedom acceleration provides?

I'm betting that's what this kid did, just things went shitty at the wrong time for him and not for you.

Marco911 04-23-2009 08:46 AM

It's fucking BC drivers who are oblivious about drivers around them. I've driven in many cities all around the world, and the most clueless drivers are in BC.

Speak for yourself, fucktard. I will piss on your grave if you hurt someone innocent when you crash while speeding.

I agree, maybe not with the part that EVERYBODY speeds, but probably the majority of them at SOME point in their life.

Iceman-19 04-23-2009 02:13 PM

The fact of the matter is, to the letter of the law, if you have ever been over the posted speed limit by as LITTLE as 1km/h, you have sped. So to say anyone that speeds is an idiot, etc, is idiotic. Everyone knows that the posted limits in the lower mainland, and in BC in general are usually laughable, and its absolutely common to be crusing at 20 above and be JUST keeping with traffic. Does that make it legal? Hell no, but when you are the only one doing 80 on the highway and traffic is flying past you at 100+, whos is the one that is going to cause a problem? YOU.

eurochevy 04-23-2009 02:37 PM

this is what happens when you have moron young ppl that think they're invincible..if ur gonna hop on a sport bike..go to a freaken riding course first and wear all ur gear, i saw 9 out of 10 ppl yesterday on their sport bikes with just helmet and or chest/ back protector and nothing else .. fucking learn how stupid ur being, RIP though despite his shitty judgement

ilvtofu 04-23-2009 02:54 PM

how do we even know he was speeding? could have just been lack of experience or bad conditions

Iceman-19 04-23-2009 03:35 PM

Because people see motorcycle and immediately assume.

hk20000 04-23-2009 03:43 PM

Riding squid doesn't mean you are less likely to survive. Same goes with fully kitted rider can still be pwn3d by blunt object once you are off the bike.

Like Katt Williams quote "n***a if you ride a bike you are gonna fall, like a quote from The Bible or something"

If you come to a sudden stop hitting a pole after being thrown off the bike you aren't likely to survive fully geared or not.
