If the cop pulled him over a simple "oh I didn't see you yes I was speeding" would have kept him out of any major trouble anyways.

Every cop is a goof to you. Your ideological law enforcement is one where cops provide criminals with better Customer Service than that of a Cellphone co.

This is the police, please come out with your hands up.

This is the police, please freeze and put your hands on your head. Thanks!

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law, thank you for your cooperation.

I'm arresting you on 3 counts of sexual assault, 2 counts of first degree murder and evading police. Please don't be offended, if it were up to me i'd let you go. sorry but i have to do this, hope you understand.

I do gotta agree that the cop did put more people in danger than the Ferrari owner.

I disagree. The heavier onus of responsibility lies on the Ferrari driver predicating the incident. The police was only doing what they were supposed to do. Had they backed off, I'm sure they would've gotten equal criticism for that as well.

I beg to differ, had he backed off, the ferrari MAY have made it outta there fine, and then there would be no article, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. :P

very smart cops, way to race a rari lol

Accident rates go WAY UP as soon as a police chase is initiated. It's a proven FACT. That's why the PoMo police refused to call it a chase.

When someone is speeding down a highway, they do not intend to hurt anyone, they just want to go fast or get somewhere fast. But when you add a chasing police car, now they have to get away from the cops as well, and go faster, and now you've added a huge element of danger to everyone on the road.

If you can't stop a speeder safely, don't try to stop them.

Apathy is all good and well until a high speed incident caused by reckless driving occurs. I can already forsee the police criticisms of them not having done enough or anything at all.

It's a load of bullcrap now that they're trying to track down the ferrari driver. Seriously every day, there's people speeding, why don't they track them all down, dumb idiots.

Why the hell are we paying these idiotic cops to chase a ferrari that was probably speeding like everyone on barnett highway, instead of focusing on bigger concerns in Vancouver, like gang violence, etc.

Didnt you know? Going 10 km/h above the speed limit is WAY worse than trafficking illegal substances....

Taking a guess but maybe it's because it's not that troublesome tracking down an exotic car.

They actually found the driver right away b/c there's a photo on the front page of the tri-city news of the crash scene and a red Ferrari 360 spyder. Don't have a scanner but this is the best pic i could find.

I saw Hyde replied on a Chinese forum about this incident, I wonder why he didn't say the same thing here.

a good driver with a Civic can outrun a crown vic on barnet!

i bet the f car wasnt even driving all that fast....

so someone asked him if he heard about a Ferrari accident in China, Hyde said:

cops need to seriously upgrade from their p.o.s crown vics to all chargers/ magnums or something..at least they have a better chance of catching ppl..get something faster/ better handling..they're stuck in the stone age...same with their motorcycle cops and ZERO gear that they wear..like fck gotta be stupid to be a cop on a motorcycle with no gear thats one of my biggest pet peeves..they're there to protect ppl and shit but if they go down they don't even have any gear they = fuked

They will probably replace the Crown Vics when necessary, but 99% of the population isn't going to run when when they see flashing lights, so why spend big bucks on a fast cop car? And you can't really outrun a radio either...
