Where can i get a floor jack
 

I've done a search on "jack" "floor jack" "where jack", and all i got was the usual Canadian Tire or Lordco. The thing is, i've bought a jack from Canadian Tire b4, and i can honestly say that its below decent IMO. I mean it'll work and all, but its something im going to be using for a long time, so i don't want it to crap out on me. Oh and i was also suggested costco...still got to check there.

If someone can point me to the right direction on where to look for a decent one, that would help :)

My budget is roughly $200ish before tax, cheaper the better off course, but i want it to be decent.

Napa sells floor jacks, we have one at work and it hasn't failed.

Got to Princess auto. When looking, get one that has 2 pumps. The shitty CT ones always fail. I've been through 2 of them. A stupid 2 cent rubber ring is always the culprit for me.

ive got a no name chinese brand one from cambodian tire

works well for me

my shop uses the higher end ones from NAPA. no complaints

go to KMS....

princess auto sells the best and cheapest ones.. i got a nice aluminum one from there for 120

I use a 5ton one from princess auto so I can jack up things like f-350's and stuff too XD

where is princess auto?

I have a Wal-Mart brand jack I've been using since Wal-Mart came to Canada... which is a long time ago now. Never had a problem. I also have a heavier-duty Canadian Tire one, which is way overkill for what I use it for (occasional use, mostly changing tires for the winter...), but it's nice having the one-stroke-to-chassis option.

I got a low profile sports car jack from Cambodian tire also served me right for over 5 years now.

Thanks a lot guys...im kinda leaning towards buying a cheapo one but then again...my guts telling me its gonna crap out and in the long run im gonna have to spend more. This brings down the list to:

Canadian Tire: 199.99 for aluminum one
Princess Auto: 169.99 aluminum
Lordco: 240: Aluminum + 2 matching jackstands

Funny though...all 3 designs are exactly the same...just different stickers/paint. I'll have to wait till monday to see since princess auto is closed, as i want to see if they have some kind of special or some sort.

I ended up buying a 60$ Michelin Jack from Canadian Tire and a 20$ MotoMaster Jackstands... Works well, i like how it has "speedylift", im just wondering if the cheaply priced jack will reflect on the actual performance. My ideal jack was the 199.99 MotoMaster Racing Aluminum one that CT had, but im not sure if i can justify the price for a jack.

Can someone tell me the advantages of a higher priced jack? I know that its low profile, but considering that my front is somewhat "slammed", im sure that i'll be needing my scissor jacks to raise the car a bit for any floor jacks. The only thing i can think of is the portability of aluminum, comparing 24.5lbs to a 100lbs jack

Drive on to 2x4's to get your car high enough to jack.

hes got the idea.. u drive it up onto 2x4s.. and then run it up a second 2x4 2 get some good clearance.. i made my own. i have 2 4ft 2x4s and nailed 2 1ft 2x4s at the end of them

im looking 4 jacks too.. any1 noe where are the good low pro jacks? my cars kinda low too..

best i can think of is the 169.99 on princess auto's website. Its the blue one, lowest is 3.5inch or something like that.

I don't like those pricey aluminum jacks as they don't have much lift height. Most of the ones I've seen are around 14". I bought a 3.5 ton Michelin jack from CDN Tire for $99 when it was on sale and it has 21" lift. The higher it lifts, the easier it is to work under the car.

thats a good point... but the michelin is like 4.5' off the ground.. pretty high =S

ive gone thru 3 Canadian Tire ones that have all failed. I've got a Michelin one right now thats starting to leak pretty good.

next one will be from princess auto when they go on sale. and the best part is lifetime warranty. walk in, tell the person at customer service, grab a new one, walk out.

Sucks how Princess Auto and KMS is in Coquitlam...I've never been there, and looking at a map, it seems pretty far. Im just lazy to go that far to pick up a jack...now im just thinking if i should return the jack..

^ its really fuking ez... LOL just dont go during rush hour... think of it as a 40min roadtrip... depending on where u are in vancouver or richmond...

Princess Auto is near lougheed, so if you can book to brunette #1 exit, and get out before 3pm on a weekday, you're pretty much set.

Im from richmond, so accessing #1 would mean im going around the far way. I think i have to take Marine...and i doubt i can rip it...saw too many people getting busted there :P
