Kind of a stupid question don't you think? You can't make out the letters or tell what state it's from. What's the point of the plate being there if you can't read it????

Securely Mounted YES/NO

Tampered/Altered YES/NO

Obstructed YES/NO

Any YES = Police attention = Ticket > No Ticket

So, every single car dealership or performance parts supplier, that includes a licence plate frame of their company can inadvertently cause a Obstruction ticket?

is this legal? ( If it wasnt bent ) ....lol

So.. are those license plate stickers illegal? I remember seeing what i'm pretty sure was just a license plate sticker on AJ-R's GTR at the RS Meet... and i've never seen that before

You are required to show the actual plate, not a sticker copy of it.

Just because you see other people doing something, doesn't mean it's legal.

But again, most cops are not going to hassle you for something that trivial unless you are doing something else stupid to provoke them, or your car has other glaringly obvious problems.

This seems like something that should be ammended so that police officers don't sound have such a negative image, I mean that camaro and JDM style angling plates I don't mind being illegal, but having a dealer's LPF around it shouldn't

Why would anyone want to freely advertise for a Car dealership anyways? When I bought my new car those stupid license plate frames were the first things to come off.

Because #1 most plates look naked without a plate frame of some sort.

#2 because you are showing support for the store that you take your business to, and are happy enough with that you would recommend others to go to.

Out of 70+ customers I've sold to this year, only ONE didn't want a Cam Clark plate frame. (they had a 'windsor university grad' plate frame)

Spoken like a true car salesman. That's great if you can find sheep to do it. Sorry, I owe no loyalties to my car dealership.

If they want me to advertise for them they will have to pay me. No one would be putting home depot stickers on their lawnmowers or power tools, what makes a car dealership so special?

It would have been even worse if it was one of those stickers they put on the back of the car, I'd be telling them to take it off before I'd buy it.

Hey if you don't like dealer plate frames, that's your choice, and it's totally cool - but calling my customers 'sheep' because they are happy to have the plate frame.. that doesn't sit too well with me.

I actually don't mind the dealership frames. I actually turn them around and use them as a cushion between the plate and the car. I do mind when they put the dealership stickers on the car though. I told a dealership before to remove the sticker they put on before. It was something I told them before purchasing. I told them I will not take delivery if they put any dealership advertisement on it. They removed it after I told them I didn't want anything like that on it.
