2009 Cobalt SS Turbocharged

This is mine so far, I miss the Honda scene a bit but I love the new ride as well.

Its stock except for the shorty antenna, 20% tint, Eibach sportlines, K&N drop in filter and a Trifecta tune.

Will Dyno in 2 weeks updates to come

Please comment! I'd like to hear the reception from a generally non-domestic crowd.

mpower 05-05-2009 12:32 AM

what is it now? 250hp? they've upped it from 200 in the earlier SS models.

Nvasion 05-05-2009 12:58 AM

i like

Lookin' good!

Wykydtron 05-05-2009 06:16 AM

I REALLY like these cars. Not completely sold on the appearance, but took one for a spin, and it drives so incredibly nice.

Great68 05-05-2009 06:21 AM

Has your intake charge piping broke yet?

Or have your rear brakes worn out yet?

:p

Looks good in black.

260.

I love it. If I could justify a new car right now, that would be one of my top pics.

time_traveller 05-05-2009 07:43 AM

I hear these cars are great bang for your buck, but I feel they look way too generic. Curious that you want to spend your money on a dyno run, why not put the money toward a real intake and exhaust system before hitting the dyno?

I'm also not familiar with what a "trifecta tune" is.

Shun Izaki 05-05-2009 08:01 AM

looks pretty good in black.

just don't put a gawdy kit on it and you're good to go.

DavidYeh 05-05-2009 09:26 AM

Thanks for the good reception!

These cars drive pretty good, as for the problems ahah, well my brakes are fine, my plastic charge pipes are good, never came off or broke or any of that.

Car is at 260hp/260tq stock. With the trifecta tune, cobalts are putting down between 290whp/300wtq to 310whp/320wtq depending on the dyno they are running out.

The trifecta tune for some reason does not like aftermarket intakes such as the Injen/Hahn or Dejon powerhouse, (brands that cater to only domestics for the exception of Injen) so I was asked to keep the stock intake until a company developes one that wont interfere with the tune. Im debating between an exhaust or just throw out the factory restrictive downpipe because I dont want the extra noise.

Ya, im pretty bored with the generic looking exterior, but Im not going to do anything more to the exterior because it'll look really ricy.

Rims/clutch/charge pipe/ downpipe are to come in that order

!Yaminashi 05-05-2009 09:40 AM

Looks good so far, just get some nice wheels

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get this for?

Put it this way, i don't really support domestic rice either :)

but, if you do your car in a simple manner, put down the numbers that you like. That's all that matters.

While I absolutely despise the interior of the car, everything else is pretty good. I test drove one last summer and it drove great. Lots of thrust from the engine and plenty of grip. I drive a 2007 Civic Si, so the abundance of torque was a welcome change. Although, I still love revving up to 8300 rpm :P

Have fun with the car, looks great so far.

thats useless if theres no power though just the fact that u can say u can rev that high lol, but yea ss/tc is a pretty easy 300hp/tq with just tune ..new factory gm kit brings it up to 290 hp with factory warranty

q0192837465 05-05-2009 12:27 PM

looking good. Black's a good color

Adsdeman 05-05-2009 01:51 PM

Not bad for a domestic. One of the only american cars i would consider.

albert116 05-05-2009 02:17 PM

nice ride man

Always been a fan of the Cobalt SS since they came out a few years back.

Come to think of it, it's the only Domestic vehicle that i would consider.

Regardless of the power, I still find the Si more fun to drive. Part of that fun to drive factor is the invigorating sound and feeling of ripping through the gears at 8k+ RPM. Like I said before, I test drove the SS/TC and it was a good performer, I just didn't find the overall package appealing enough for me.

ToyotaPowah 05-05-2009 02:21 PM

YoungGunna, if you don't mind me asking, what was the OTD price?

shenmecar 05-05-2009 02:47 PM

is this a old pic? where is there still snow?
