Almost everything that runs in Vista runs in Win7. I'm now running build 7127 and the speed is back with everything

Didn't really check on the updates. I tend not to install windows updates anyways. 7127 is not a build that's officially available to the masses. But really the Release candidate can download all the windows updates anyways

How do you guys install new builds? Clean install?

Assuming all data is on another partition, do you still have to re-install all your apps, drivers and change all your settings each time you upgrade?

I always do clean installs and never upgrade. If you upgrade all your installed drivers and apps should remain.

my computer randomly turns off and turns on again. Like all the fans shut off and my power is blinking. It turns on again after. Is this an energy saver feature or is it just messed up? I've also gotten a couple BSODs. I don't know what's causing it cause I can't read that fast. Should I just do a clean install to fix this?

Did you upgrade your Vista to Win7?
'Cause it's recommended you do a fresh install of Win7 on a separate partition. That way, your current OS does not get wiped out. Unless you plan on buying Windows 7 then forget about your current OS

I Dualboot on Macbook Unibody. Seems to work fine with the drivers from the CD. I did need a trackpad patch though to get 2 finger working.

Vista drivers have 32 bit and 64 bit version. if it doesn't say 64 bit then it's assumed its 32 bit.

Macbook pro cd. You may need to go into the drivers folder on the cd as I don't remember if the autorun worked. Hmm my install took about 15gb. But I believe it varies somewhat depending on size of drive. I've got 80gb allocated to my bootcamp partition.

windows 7 looks good and i like the new taskbar. i like the fact that everything works right out of the box, no need for extra drivers.

i'm dual-booting with mac os x 10.5.6 on my pc and lovin' the setup.
