Have you guys ever washed door jambs before? There's nothing wrong hosing the jambs...only way to get water damage is to spray directly onto the panels...which he didn't.

I think he said that was a dirty mitt for the door jambs and tires.



Again..I dont know what the big fuss is...the fact he had the doors open to wash jambs is making you guys freak? You do realize he would closed the doors and trunk before washing the car right?

Honestly I've never seen anyone take a hose directly to the door jambs. If you're washing some beater, sure go for it but who the hell risks spraying water all over the interior and in side the door panel on a $100,000+ car? A wet rag and some elbow grease usually does the work for me when I clean my jambs.

Reason you dont see it because when you drop your car off for a detail..you dont SEE what's going on.

Hosing door jambs and using a wash mitt avoids scratches....you dont wash your car with a wet rag...so why would you wash door jambs with it.

What little overspray of water hits the panel...can easily be wiped.

I would never take a hose to the door jams, just in case water gets inside the panels, which it will

I wouldnt risk getting any of my leather and electronics wet

I can only assume you missed the waterfall of water pouring into the trunk as he sprayed the thing.

I once worked as a detailer and everything he did in the video was pretty common. Keep in mind some shops have a higher standard than others. Ya and there are some things in the video that I would never do to my own car.

A dirty mitt gets rinse in the bucket of soap...hosing the jambs and soapy wash mitt will prevent less scratches.

A wet rag just spreads the existing dirt in the door jambs which causes scratches....I've detailed Bentley's before...those Bentley's have 10" door jambs...so it's quite easy to notice scratches.

Like I said...if you truly are a detail fanatic...you would wash your jambs just like the outside of your car.

It's VERY common...I think people are too worried about the overspray of water.
