i dont kno who to ask about this so ill post it here.

im addicted to a compuslive behavor. i cant stop doing finger guns at ppl. i do it at work, i do it when im shopping, i do it to my family, and i do it when i see my gf.

ppl at work are making fun of me i know it. before i can do it they do it first and i always hear laugfing when im around. my parents put up with it and my gf has grabbed my hands and told me to stop. i just cant stop it.

wht do I do?

What the hell are finger guns? What is the reason behind doing it?

Damn thats freaky man. When did this start? Do you have other psychological issues in addition to this?

If you don't have a history of psychological problems, you should go see your family doctor, she can refer you to a psychologist.

put ur hands in ur pockets or have it ocupied when you are talking?

carry something around with you. like a deck of cards, a rubber ball, etc. Then.. fiddle with that. Shuffle the cards, or just.. riffle them, or whatever.. bounce the ball, whatever works for you.



Also I definitely thought this 'finger guns' term was some new slang for finger banging that I was unaware of. Leaving disappointed now.

paint your index fingernail a really stupid color. Or your thumb nail for that matter.

amputation is the only thing that will fix this issue.

It's a habitual behaviour that's become compulsive, and instinctive. You've started using that particular action for certain things, ie, acknowledgement, in an everyday setting.

You need to replace it with something different, even a different verbal greeting will help.

You sohuld also consider using another object to keep your hands busy, and to"train" your brain to progressively stop this.

When did you start having this behaviour?

Its just a habit you ve developed, try this next time record or remember how many time you ve done it and then punish your self with a money jar. Fill 5 bucks each time you do it. that would stop you from doing so

I don't see what's wrong with doing finger guns... if Tom cruise does it... how is it not cool?

put a rubber band on ur wrist, each time u do it, pull on the elastic band and let it hit, make it a 'punishment' each time.
