Towing Neighbors Uninsured Car ?????

so i have this asshole neighbor that keeps parking infront of my house and taking up my parking spots. and recently ive noticed that he hasnt moved his shit box in a few days. then i realized that his insurance has passed. and right now his car is taking up some space in front of my house. can i call a tow truck on him or what. :D

the thing that fucking pisses me off the most is he has fucking space to park it in the back of his house but he doesn't and he chooses to take up the space in front of my house.

discuss

Have you tried talking to the owner?

1exotic 05-22-2009 11:56 PM

Beat the shit out of him, end of thread.

AVS_Racing 05-22-2009 11:57 PM

nope cuz we've had arguments about parking before and they keep parking in front of our house therefore we have to park across the street. etc

Johnrb 05-23-2009 12:04 AM

you can probably call by laws or somthing.. I'm not sure

but do you really want to have bad blood with your neighbours?

imagine if they had your car towed..

at least give the guy some warning.....?

AVS_Racing 05-23-2009 12:07 AM

well the thing is he doesn't park his shit box in front of his own house, but he parks it at my house and my other neighbors. taking up other ppls parking space.

u dont own the street in front of your house, its public. he can park there if he wants

boibuddha 05-23-2009 12:20 AM

Let the city know about an uninsured vehicle parked in front of your house. Don't even talk to this cunt bag about it. He doesn't give a crap, neither should you. They'll be towing his car in no time as it is illegal to have uninsured vehicles parked in public streets.

Extreme case - Uninsured car's brake system has a catastrophic failure and kills someone. The owner has gone missing... there's too much liability by the city if the car is left there.

AVS_Racing 05-23-2009 12:20 AM

yea but its uninsured, doesn't that count as abandoned?

JSALES 05-23-2009 12:30 AM

if it's uninsured, isn't it not supposed to be parked on the public street?

+1

can't stand people that think they own the parking spot in front of their house.

Your neighbor sounds like a prick, especially when it seems like he just parks in your space just to piss you off when the space in front of his house is open.

Just tow him, or better yet break his windows since he doesn't have insurance...

TypeRNammer 05-23-2009 12:51 AM

vehicle with no insurance parked on street = no no

tow that shit immediately!

EDIT: It's a 250 dollar ticket for leaving an uninsured car there, plus storage fee in the impound lot

AVS_Racing 05-23-2009 12:55 AM

so do i call the city for towing or busters or somthing?

The_AK 05-23-2009 12:56 AM

Inform the city of the situation and get them to tow it =)

You should call city hall. There are rules and regulations in regards to inunsured cars that are parked on the street. I'm sure when and if you do, it would be more of a civil way of dealing with this ordeal you have with your neighbour rather than beating him up or starting unnecessary commotion. If anything, he'd have to comply to the likes of the City and not so much you.

124Y 05-23-2009 01:24 AM

Yea you can get him towed if he is uninsured, but I really think that "space" in front of your house belongs to the public and he has the right to park there.

fliptuner 05-23-2009 01:55 AM

If he has room to park behind or in front of his own house yet insists on parking in front of yours, he's a dick.

I agree that he technically can park on any public street provided the car's properly insured - whether it's considerate or not is another story. But since it's not insured, call it in.

They'll probably just sticker it and it'll take 2-4 days to get towed if it's not moved. However, during that time, your neighbor will probably just drive it to the back of his house.

orange7 05-23-2009 02:30 AM

this is kinda off topic, but you should do something to get along with your neighbors. I mean in situations like a house robbery when you're not home, your neighbors would be there to call the cops. Another example would be when your parked car get hit and run, and your neighbors have the best chance of catching that.

I don't know, but it's a win win deal to have a good relationship with your neighbors.

the government very quitely passed a law about 20 or so years ago that you can park for maximum of 3 hours in a residential area where there are no sign s at all. after 3 hours, anyone can call on you and have you towed. even if ur parked in front of ur own house.

look it up.

ilvtofu 05-23-2009 08:28 AM

since it's uninsured you might as well batter the crap out of his car. Gonna teach him not to park there anymore. But probably he'll think it's u if u've had previous arguments with them.

Does this guy have a regular insured daily driver?

racerman88 05-23-2009 09:01 AM

call the city of Vancouver abandoned vehicles to report it. Last time I checked they were pretty backed up so it might take a couple of weeks before they can make it out. If they can see the vin # or if it has plates, the owner of the car will get a $250 ticket plus a possibility of a tow if they do not move the car or insure it in time.

Leopold Stotch 05-23-2009 09:12 AM

IIRC you'd have to call in

then come down and put a sticker on it

then wait a week
then tow it

by then i'm sure your neighbour would have already moved the car. so it'll sorta be a win situation for you
