Window got smashed today

Some douchebag smashed my passenger side window today in broad daylight in front of my house. The broken glass also cut some of the leather on the passenger seat and the door will need to be taken apart because pieces of glass are stuck in it and have jammed my door handle.

I didn't have anything valuable visible in my car that would attract someone to smash my window and my system was not stolen which makes me believe the vandalism was targeted. My buddies 03 Accord was also parked behind me and nothing was done to his car or any other cars parked on the street at that time.

I have called ICBC already and filed a claim and just wondering if anybody recommends a good ICBC repair shop to fix the damage in Burnaby. I'm thinking of bringing it to AK Autoworks. Suggestions please.

Pics of the damage

wow my friends car was smashed in downtown. nothing stolen out of his car, even thought there was valualbe stuff in the back seat. only glass was broken and that was it.

we went to the scrap yards and just bought a used window from those salvaged cars and installed it ourselves cus its not really worth 300$ deductible

Wow that sucks... I agree that vandalism was the case here. Maybe it's because you drive 2-door Mercedes (AMG i think?) and some poor scum was jealous.

Mercedes-Benz repair shop in Richmond. Say no to generic/aftermarket.

We MB owners are lucky there are OEM shops (Richmond and North Vancouver) here. BMW does NOT have a shop in the Lower Mainland!

Is that a W208?

Just bring it to anyplace, I wouldn't bring it to any MB stores to fix it because you will most likely be waiting a long time to get it fixed since they are usually pretty backed up with other car repairs.

That's because it's blue, not green like the rest of us poor bastards' cars...

Door glass is so easy, a monkey could do it. Fixed glass is way harder...

hmm, someone smashed my windows on my A4 too. I just bring it to a ICBC glass store & they replace it w/ OEM glass (with that little Audi sticker). But i replaces my windshield with Bismark, they'r great ppl to work with, I'd recommend them too.

They may not use OEM glass, in which case the tint won't match. Some glass shops have idiots working there.

Factory shop is great, but I don't know about the quality. I have receipts of bodywork sent back to Vancouver Mercedes on my C36 but when I look at the trunk I think some monkey went to fix it the AMG badge is stuck on wrong.

My friend had a repair there too with his W211 but in the end the repainted surface looks a little off from the other panels.... MB says it will take some time and some UV and it'll look the same soon because they use water based paint or something. I dunno kind of funny.

Glass repair is all gooooood though.

+1, my car was in the one of the MB bodyshops a while ago.
I was not happy with their work, so I took it back to them. They repaired it again, but I still wasn't happy with the repair. In the end I just gave up because everytime I bring my car in there, I find scratches on other parts of the car(ie. rocker panel).
Maybe they just didn't like me

Oh jeez, more vandalism... really turning me off to getting a nice car in the future, let alone, putting hard earned cash to mod it up, (when ICBC won't cover mods).

Just gonna get a damn Yaris in the future...
