my gg time vs sunrun time is way off. my gg time is 58mins vs sunrun time of 46 mins. I don't get it at all. |
Second time up the grouse grind, and shaved 8 minutes off my first time. 54 minutes. |
they are shut down today for maintenance b/c of loose rocks according to their website |
I went on Tuesday afternoon, wish I had some bug repellent, the flies and mosquitoes were super annoying  |

43MA for life! |
Just did my 3rd run of the Grind yesterday finishing at 51m. Yesterday sucked.....by the time u hit the top, its so chilly that the sweat on your head freezes. My next run is two weeks...and hoping to hit the 40s range. |

Yesterday was on the verge of rain, but the weather seemed to hold up. Still, i was wearing shorts and a t,....it wasn't cold at all. But at the top, there was a breeze good enough to create frost off the top of your head. |
I did it 2 times this week First one was a very slow pace with many breaks coming in at 2:30 hours Second one was better with waiting breaks for slower friends coming in at 1:08 hours I feel pretty good, but i got quite a few bites on me. Can't wait to do it again. |
ive done it once and dont plan on doing it ever again LOL |

How is the Grind on Sunday mornings these days? I'm thinking about doing it this Sunday, but I want to go early enough to avoid the Lululemon hordes... I'll probably do a short 2K sprint before I take the drive up there just to get my heart and thighs pumping. I'm in decent (though not spectacular shape) and I'm aiming for a time in the mid to low-50s. :o |
damn, i gotta attempt this some time |
My first attempt this week took about 90 minutes :D It was hard! but fun! I'll be doing it a few more times this summer :D |
went for the first time sunday, went up in 62 mins, much faster than i thought, but much harder than i imagined |
Anyone wanna do a group meet early next week in the AM??? |
what time approximately? i'd be coming from surrey and i usually leave after the traffic has died off. |
I went on Sunday morning and I arrived a little bit later than I wanted to - 10:15ish. The Grind on Sunday mornings is packed beyond belief and if I had a choice, I'd definitely do it on weekday mornings as opposed to weekends. I finished it in just a few ticks above 56 minutes. I wasn't entirely happy with my time, but considering the amount of traffic, it was a decent first run this season. I felt pretty good until about the 3/4 mark - my body felt like I had hit a wall. I probably didn't have enough food before heading up there, or I needed Gatorade instead of plain water. When I saw the clearing, I tried to run the last 200 metres, but my legs quit after 10-15 seconds. But, there was no soreness in my thighs the next day which means I can probably go harder next time. |
