Update: A video from the June issue of Qore is now available on YouTube (and after the jump). In the video, Qore host Veronica Belmont discusses the new PSP Go handheld with Sony's John Koller who mentions the handheld (which features 16GB of internal storage, a memory slot for expandable memory and bluetooth) will not replace the current PSP-3000 -- they will coexist.

According to Koller, new titles will be revealed for the platform at E3, specifically: a new Metal Gear Solid and Jak & Daxter. Also, expect Sony's E3 briefing to mention Jak & Daxter PSP (announced previously) and Gran Turismo PSP -- which has been known since the birth of the platform. Get those bingo cards out, kids!

Original Article: According to images grabbed by the Gaming Console Network, PS3's virtual magazine (Qore) made its latest issue available early and revealed the (long-rumored) PSP revision. As rumors and mockups theorized, the PSP Go in the images features no UMD drive and a sliding screen. It also features a single (and poorly positioned) analog stick. Adding fuel to the fire, PlayStation LifeStyle has posted an image it states is of the actual retail packaging for the soon-to-be announced handheld iteration -- and both designs match.

Ugly ass design with a poorly placed analog stick.......... not to mention no dual analog stick..i highly doubt this thing will sell like hotcakes like when the DS Lite and DSi was released to the market....... Sony aint Nintendo..

secstasy 05-30-2009 12:19 PM

ugly .

Hondaracer 05-30-2009 01:49 PM

i think it looks pretty good.. not like id buy one though

urrh 05-30-2009 02:11 PM

i would but it looks like one of those slider phones

Grandmaster TSE 05-30-2009 02:13 PM

i wouldn't mind getting one of these badboys

underscore 05-30-2009 02:16 PM

I like it. I don't quite get the mention of how theres no dual analog stick, yet the DS doesn't have one at all (last I checked). while using X [] O and ^ is a little wierd for FPS, I dont think handhelds are the place for FPS anyways.

now if they made it a touchscreen and had phone capabilities as well...I'd jizz my pants

twitchyzero 05-30-2009 02:38 PM

more interested in a psp2
oh well i dont ever plan on getting portable gaming hardware..i play enough game when im at home as it is

ienhz 05-30-2009 03:00 PM

Fail. I was looking forward to buying a PSP Go but god damn they made this thing ridiculously ugly. I'd rather buy the current PSP, looks way nicer.

The PS3 slim better impress.

LsquareD 05-30-2009 03:09 PM

Uggs. Maybe it looks better in person lol

postcode 05-30-2009 03:16 PM

I am expecting some cool games like PS2 eyetoy, if NDS has it, why can't PSP?

underscore 05-30-2009 09:26 PM

meh

tho the little notch at the very bottom, maybe a mic?

!Aznboi128 05-30-2009 10:29 PM

doesnt look comfortable to use

Rhetorical 05-30-2009 10:51 PM

it's the sony mylo, except with psp controls rather than qwerty

ForbiddenX 05-30-2009 10:59 PM

Looks pretty nice to me. I'd only get one if the price were right, but considering it has an internal 16gb and it's sony, the price would be pretty high?

dub.g 05-31-2009 11:02 AM

i know there were rumours last year about a patent that Sony Erricsson rejected about putting the Playstation brand on one of their phones

the PSP Go! is probably the result of the reject, what could have been a full pledge touch screen, with PSP capabilities and phone functionalities...

for those wondering, despite both companies being under Sony, SCEA and Sony Erricsson still functions as indivual companies..

wahyinghung 06-03-2009 09:20 PM

Not bad for $249 usd

sas 06-08-2009 02:14 PM

Whats the main advantage of this vs the regular PSP? The internal HD?

skyxx 06-08-2009 02:37 PM

It's smaller and has a built in HD basically. It's pretty good I say, Even my sister says it's nicer than the current...:/
