ford fiesta I need some details. late 2009 is not soon enough. is it going to be cheaper than a fit more importantly? |
Ford has not released any pricing info to dealers yet, nor are there any solid delivery dates. Of course it will be aimed square at the Fit and Yaris, hence the pricing will be similar or better for comparable models. As soon as anything pops up on inford.com I will let you know. |
I'll buy one off you. Let me know. |
it looks like the mazda 2... |
mazda 2 is based of the fiesta kinda like the mazda 3 is based off the euro focus |
I'd take the Fiesta over the Mazda2 because of the funkier interior. It'd actually make a good daily driver/beater if the lease was good enough with 0 down. |
^ I think the better reason is it can out run a Corvette in a Mall as proven in Top Gear |
lol.. looks pretty fun in top gear.. so you never know :D |
well im either buying this or a mazda 3 hatchback. |
so might as well look into Mazda 2 |
|
I wounder if they will bring the firesta st over, its a really nice hot hatch!! |
Are they even bringing the Mazda2 here? |
have you seen the fiesta special on top gear in season 12? It's a war machine! i'm interested if anyone gets any inside info about it coming XD |
Mazda's CEO annouced that he has plans to bring the Mazda2 to Canada, but there is no timeline or information further to that. The Feista is definately coming, and will be here well ahead of the Mazda2 if that ever does get here. As soon as Ford posts the order guides w/ available options etc etc I will let ya'll know. |
i want a fiesta not a mazda 2. Your paying more for the same. |
and yeah of course it looks like a mazda2 they are the same platform |
Ford's have come a long way and I honestly wouldn't mind getting one. Sat in one of their newer SUVs (forgot the name) and was pretty impressed with the interior. Felt like I was in a Japanese car. And MajinHurricane is right - you're paying more for the same car but with Mazda badging. Why should you? |

The majority of owners, even those on RS, that are looking at the Fiesta/Yaris/Fit/Mz2 don't buy 'em because of the potential it may have when modified... they buy 'em because they're good city cars with (typically) excellent fuel mileage. |
Mz2 are wicked. I got in one in dealer in HK.....quite goofy thing to be in. |
imajin get a mazda 3 hatchback |
That's what I was looking at. But I'm waiting for the fiesta to coMe out first. |

I don't think the Mazda2 looks much better or worse than the Fiesta. They look pretty much the same, to be honest - just like the B-series truck/Ranger, and Escape/Tribute. They are the SAME VEHICLE, with the SAME WARRANTY and the SAME QUALITY, the only difference is the Mazda costs more because people THINK it's a better product because of the Japanese name. The only reason why someone would choose the equivalent Mazda over the Ford is a pre-conception that the Mazda is built in Japan and therefore better. Ford is trying hard to change that conception but unfortunately the world is full of Timpos. |
