Places to Watch the Sunset I'm thinking about doing some photography in the next few days knowing that the next few days will be nothing but SUN. Are there any places in the Lower mainland with a good view of the Sun? I can think of - Grouse - Burnaby Mountain - English Bay? Beach? PS: On a side note, I'm also thinking going to places where there's a lot of green air... meaning trees, wildlife, green pastures.. - Capilano Suspension Bridge - Lynn Canyon.. Any ideas? |
Richmond, anywhere along the western dyke... Iona Beach (north of the airport). Depends what you want on your horizon, but it'll probably be mountains, whether the North Shore, or Vancouver Island. |
canada place!! its beautiful o'er there |
anywhere along river road in richmond |
u sure u want to do it now when theres this haze from the buring forest? |
Prospect point? |
the best place i've been to is lighthouse park but the downside is that it's like a half an hour to 45 minute drive. If you follow a seaside trail, it'll lead you to Jackpine Point which is probably one of the nicest view's i have seen |
Jobo, i've never tried Lighthouse Park... thanks so much! I'll see if I can snap some good ones while the sun is still out |

It's the highest point thats closest to the water I think. Just about anywhere around that road from Lighthouse Park to Horseshoe bay works. Or drive another 10 minutes and go for Cypress. |

Remember that for a lot of these places on the North Shore, the viability for sunset/sunrise viewing can change with the season. The sun rises and sets a lot farther north in the summer than in the winter. |
Crescent Beach |
Today should be an awesome day for a sunset pic, with the clouds moving in. |
The haze drifting in from the Lillooet fire should help make for redder, more brilliant sunsets... it messes up long shot of mountains and stuff, but should really make the sunset/sunrise pop! |
