i actually think its a good idea; they should cut out the pornographic situations in their tv shows though which are quite shocking btw (the thought that its aired on tv)
i think this just shows the cultural differences between the west and east and to react negatively towards them is expected (as seen by muslim women wearing scarves and the wests reaction) but doesn't make it right... just accept that values are different across the globe and there's no reason that your values are better or worse than anothers...

using VPN will get around of any of the censorship, I can get decent ADSL speed with my 100mb direct cat5e at the factory connected to hk's PCCW 100mb fiber line via VPN.
the best thing is that the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 wiki in english is not blocked at all LOL they only blocked the chinese translation versions.

A majority of the internet user is hailing the success and convenience of the filter software that was pre-installed on the computers.
This is coming from the realization that people can pull the database of websites which the software blocks, so everyone who is interested in porn can have a list of the most popular porn sites.
I seriously hope the States can do the same, it is god damned difficult to keep up with all the porn sites coming up everyday lol
