Is this computer any good?

Just in the market for a new computer.

Just for home use and a few games here and there.

Is this computer decent and relatively quick enough to play games and such?

Thanks in advance.

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Always pricematch other places before buying from NCIX

I bought a whole setup from NCIX but saved at least another 15+% off the original total.

Use www.shopbot.ca and/or www.pricebat.ca

You'll have to buy the part seperately.

Certain items that sold for $30 costed me under $6.00. Things like sata cables and stuff are like half the NCIX selling price.

apart from the case, cpu, and graphics card everything else is weak

if you want to oc that 920 you gonna need better mobo, ram, and after-market cooler

just buy it the parts separately and you can build much faster system with 1350

I wouldn't really recommend this case. I have it, it's not baaaad. But it sucks up ALOTTTT of dust. We're talking your CPU will have a pretty thick layer of dust build up. I dust mine every couple days, but vacuum it almost every week.

There's nodust filters or mesh. The Nine Hundred V2 has them.

that's his choice but just letting him know in case he decided to do it down the road and find out the mobo, ram, and psu is completely shit and inadequate. btw the 920 are made to overclock it would be a shame to leave it stock @ 2.66Ghz, even a minor 10 - 15% overclock will noticeably boost desktop & in game performance

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Just a quick question, wouldn't overlocking a cpu, have an effect on the other parts dying quicker overall?

I never intended to overclock anything.

I'm new at OC too.. my friend helped me OC my old AMD Athalon 64 3200+ Venice CPU. I had this computer for 3ish years and no issues with parts dying. 2GHZ to 2.5GHZ stable. I'm running my system almost 24/7 with only air cooling.

My setup:

Asus A8N SLI Premium mobo
3200+ Venice CPU
G-Skill 2 X 512MB ram
Thermalright XP-120 CPU Heatsink
FSP 500W PSU
BGF 6600GT Vid Card

OCing is not needed for any new computer, it's only for bragging rights. No amount of OCing will help save an outdated rig.

not everyone has the same mentality as you do when it comes to computer parts, as long as it works right, and works stable with them, that's probably adequate.

no need to bash lower end parts because it doesnt suit your high end needs, he doesn't need to spend more than he has to.

Well i've placed an order for this computer. Thanks everyone for their opinions and suggestions.

I just hope it'll be decent enough to play games such as starcraft 2 when it actually does come out.
