Im pretty sure this takes place 4000 years before the movies do, like the original KOTOR's did. As for when it comes out, not for a while yet. I keep pestering my friend at Bioware to give me more details, but he isnt telling me too much cause he likes his job.  http://www.swtor.com/ is the website for the game if you wanna check it out

I hope they change it up tho, cause KOTOR got repetitive fast! Only reason to keep playing it was the story, but the game itself got old!
