Free Ice

Ok guys, I need some free ice for a cooler. Anyone know where I can get some?

RFlush 06-14-2009 02:12 PM

I think McDonalds offers free ice; but they ask you to make a donation to the Ronald McDonald charity fund.

Durrann1984 06-14-2009 02:15 PM

i would love free ice right about now

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 02:20 PM

Go buy it at a gas station, most restaurants have an ice machine and u can probably do that, or go to like a hotel/motel and use theirs.

Durrann1984 06-14-2009 02:38 PM

^^ smart ..i remember motels have ice machines outside?

willystyle 06-14-2009 02:42 PM

^ Which one?

mmmk 06-14-2009 02:47 PM

You'll spend money on booze for your cooler but you're too cheap to buy ice??

WOW...

willystyle 06-14-2009 02:47 PM

Who said it was for booze?

mmmk 06-14-2009 02:51 PM

my bad, shouldn't have assumed.

shenmecar 06-14-2009 02:53 PM

hotels will have it for sure. just walk in like you have a room there, find the ice freezer and get out =D

ajax 06-14-2009 02:54 PM

some grocery stores may do it, ask the produce manager or something. at coopers we have a ice machine in the back that just sits there making ice for no use.

Starbucks.

Ruzty 06-14-2009 03:59 PM

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 04:58 PM

Tap water is free neways, I don't see why they wouldn't give it to you, especially if you were a customer.

power for the freezer isn't.

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 08:46 PM

The power is still really cheap especially if it's for a customer. and the ppl who will be giving you ice don't pay the bills neways.

Amped 06-14-2009 09:13 PM

Should go visit Dr.Tran's 100% ice stall. He only sells 100% ice.

El Bastardo 06-14-2009 09:16 PM

Is this going to turn into a WTS: Kidney thread?

ilvtofu 06-14-2009 09:17 PM

hehe Dr. Tran includes tons of goodies with his 100% ice too!

during the summer time people kept coming to the bar to ask for ice. it got to the point where we didnt have enough.

also, the water may be free...but it costs money to freeze the water

Isn't ice $2 why don't you just buy it. How much ice do you even need?

impactY 06-14-2009 11:48 PM

Ice machines actually have a relatively high power consumption, very similar to a refrigerator.
