Running winter tires in the summer...

What are the consequences of running winter tires in the summer?
planning to go to the interiors for wineries, roadtrip, camping, so it will be highways/gravel/uneven pavements/all conditions.

i am running super thin 225/35/19 all seasons Hankook Ventus

would i be better off swapping back to 205/65/15 Hankook winters ipike 80% on steelies? any safety issues?

or should i just dodge potholes and suffer a harsher ride with full load?

any experiences running winters in hot summer weather?

just last week, i saw a mazda 3 still running some canadian tire winters.. lol

Wouldnt the winter tires just get worn down faster?

I rather you run 50 dollar all seasons from walmart than the winter tires. Remember, winter tires increase traction as the temperature drops and vice versa ( temperature increase = less traction). It's basically similar to running summers in Winter. Not much traction at all. The winters will still work in the summer but you'll get less traction(further braking distance) and your tread will be gone. What a waste of money I say. :/

sometimes common sense prevails even though you don't know the correct answer.

get some super cheap set of threads for $100 since winter tires will set you back that per tire...

1.) Significantly reduced traction
2.) Significantly increased tire wear
3.) Tires could blister

I run my winters pretty safely into early march/late feb and as early as 1st week of dec.

That being said, I noticed my 2 season old Blizzak WS-60's are at about 65% or so... pretty decent wear, and i run it pretty early/late as well.

That being said if you run it in the summer, only if they were gifted to you, or you're burning your money away...

like others said, less control + burning rubber = still could be safe.... but generally not good.

alright, i will stick with my stupidly thin tires then.

another question. i see some of you guys use those blue/white-ish masking tapes when you guys race. that is for avioding rock chips correct?

where do i get those? and what are they called? i plan to using them to cover my bumper/hood so that i don't get dead flies/bugs/bees mark on the car. last year was brutal trying to polish/wash them out.

can i leave the tape on say 3-4 days without leaving a mark?

Im still running winters....im gonna use them until they wear out.
There isnt enough tread to run them for another winter (started slipping a bit in the snow) so im just gonna use them until theyre done, then buy another set of winters and next yr buy some all seasons

I drive 120+ on them with no problems...there is probably like 40% left on them
