Morrey Nissan Coquitlam preowned

On their website it says the first thing you see is "We realize that it's the "fear of the unknown" that keeps some people from purchasing a Pre-owned vehicle."

I didn't have that fear when I purchased my car a month and a half ago, but now I think maybe I should've had it.

All over the website you see stuff about "100% satisfaction"

http://morreyauto.com/nissan-coquitlam/about_us.php

^if you scroll to the bottom of that page, It says minimum 5 month/ 5000km powertrain warranty. and that they come with a 150 point mechanical inspection and ar FULLY RECONDITIONED

My car has less than 2000km from the day I bought it, and it has
-Rusted through exhaust
-1 broken rear shock
-Broken hood struts
-broken 3rd gear synchro

-and probably some others that I haven't found yet

And within the first couple of days I brought it to get a wheel alignment that it desperately needed, This shouldn't be my responsibility especially when the car has barely been driven.

What can I do to get reimbursement/repairs for my car from the dealership?
Can I take legal action?
What's covered under warranty?
Anyone know someone who has connections with morrey nissan?

Please no stupid joke answers

Thanks in advance

I dont think powertrain warranty will cover any of that, except maybe the 3rd gear synchro
They could just turn around to you and say all of that happened AFTER you bought it

What did you buy?

What did you buy? (make/model/year/mileage?)

Have you been talking to your salesperson and the manager about your problems?

That should be your FIRST course of action.

I agree, legal action should be your last resort

I mean, If I sell a car to someone and he's unhappy, I want him to come tell me ASAP so I can do something about it.

That way he'll maybe buy another car from me or send his friends to buy a car from me.

Last thing I want is for a customer to have bad thoughts when they see my name.

"Plus, all qualifying vehicles come with a minimum 5 month / 5,000km powertrain warranty. "

That's IF your car qualifies.

I don't get it, all those things you listed aren't powertrain related except the transmission issue. If you had a mechanical inspection done by a 3rd party which I'm sure you did because not doing so would be idiotic they should have found broken shock, hood strut and rusted exhaust. Caveat emptor, buyer beware.

You're buying a used car not a new one and probably don't have a leg to stand on legally.

I personally have experience how a dealership "recondition" their pre-owned cars. Recondition in their book means - outdoor spray paint the bumper if it's scratched, interior carpet spray paint if the carpet is stained, armorall all tires, and check if any missing exterior or interior trim pieces, etc.

Dealers won't get you new shocks, no new parts, no new exhaust if it's not broken before you sign the papers. Once you sign the papers, it's your responsbility. I've very negative experience with the dealership used car lot, so it would be better to buy private and save that 6% tax.

Depends on the dealership. Yes, it's a business and it's there to make money. However there are good businesses and there are bad businesses.

Believe it or not there are dealerships with managers and salespeople that actually are honest.

The car is the one in my DP, as you can see it looks great on the outside, new fresh paint and everything, maybe it was the impulse of such a nice looking car that led to the purchase, The car just reached 155,000km today and it's an 88 N/A 300zx
I've driven it for less than 2000km since it left the dealership,

The question really is, since they performed inspections on the car, and "RECONDITIONED" it shouldn't all the problems with the car be fixed?

I still don't know how I didn't notice the exhaust, maybe because it sounded pretty nice with the hole LOL, you don't even need to be a mechanic to see the rust! 3 or 4 weeks ago one of the tips fell off too...

Is there something I can do with BBB by the way?

I still feel royally pwnd by this dealership for paying so much for this car, It's an eye catcher thats for sure, but I could've probably bought one without the new paint for 2-3k

Also The car has a rebuilt engine that has warranty on it till october or so, But i think that warranty only covers engine components that were rebuilt/replaced.

Also I have e-mailed the stealership twice and haven't been e-mailed back.

What exactly are dealerships' definitions of "reconditioned?"
Is it just so it runs fine with no problems, or to bring it back as close to "new" as possible?

Why not call the dealership, or better yet go in and speak with the sales manager?
That would be alot more effective than emailing and posting here

Speak with someone there FIRST, THEN decide what you want to do

I'm currently filing a complaint online with the BBB, seems like it'll be more effective, because the car was purchased under my dad's name, I don't think the dealership is taking me seriously, but on BBB i'm stating that i'm filing this for my dad.

#1 reconditioned doesn't mean fuck all. It's a very vague term that means they cleaned up the car. It does not mean you are getting a "new" car.

You bought a 21 year old car. It WILL have issues.

Welcome to reality.

Sorry in advance if the truth hurts.

From one 300ZX owner to another, that right there is the biggest factor to what's wrong with your car. Did you expect it to be perfect?

Honestly, lets run down the list:
-Hood struts (no, really? Go to lordco, or whatever and buy a new set for $30)
-Blown shock (go to ukranian tire, and get a shitty replacement one, OR upgrade)
-Rusted Exhaust (Again, the car is probably on it's original, 21 year old exhaust - time to upgrade (which will be cheaper then OEM)
-Syncho (this is the only "serious" thing, which should be covered under your warranty)

I wasn't planning to actually complain, but then I see no harm done,

It's my fault I didn't notice the exhaust rusted through cause I'm sure it'd been like that for a while,
At the time the hood struts worked but those are pretty cheap and aren't a big deal.

All the problems are minor, 3rd gear doesn't grind unless its going pretty fast, not city speeds.

As far as the shock goes, I don't really notice that problem, but my brother who is a mechanic says one of the rears is busted. I'll trust him on that but it's really not a big deal. Maybe I'll get a tokico kit or something.

^after 21 years you'd hope that none of the shocks have ever been changed,
and considering it has a rebuilt engine that they did and has less than 5000km on it, you'd expect the engine/drivetrain should be pretty good.

Thanks though, I'll get that syncro fixed since a powertrain warranty should cover a syncro. It's they're fault for not inspecting it well enough, I'll try to squeeze this out of 'em,

I've been shopping around for exhausts from crappy tire to overseas auto, I was just gonna buy a nice aftermarket one neways,
