Anyone ever buy a car off a reserve?

I work at an airport that's right beside a native reserve. Occasionally I drive through the reserve and lately I've noticed a lot of broken down nice cars.

Like for instance the other day I spotted a Fox Body GT convert and an Iroz-Z just sitting around with grass growing beneath them. Both in good condition, probably just mechanical issues.

I figured I would be able to pick up a nice car off the reserve for cheap. Has anyone gone down to the reserves to look at there cars?

take cash and be preparied to be told to fuck off. Alot of the people who have the broken down vehicles don't care because it is there land and they can do what they want.

Shouldn't be any different than going to anyone else's house and asking to buy something that they aren't advertising.

Has anyone actually purchased a car off the reserve, or is everyone just gonna throw out shallow offensive jokes against Indians.

The term "Indians" is actually rather racist and not really accurate at all.

The proper term is Natives or Aborginals.

And your question has already been answered. It would be the same as going onto someone's property and lowballing them on something that isn't advertised as "For Sale".

I've bought salmon from a reserve. It was really fresh, some of the salmon was actually still alive. It was cheap as hell too - 3 pink salmons for $20 CAD, and this was back in like 2001?

You don't even know what racist means. What are you going to do, use your mod privileges to edit my post again like last time I called you out?

Racism: hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

How is calling natives "indians" a racist term? Go take a student loan out, go back to school and take some history lessons. Research what christopher columbus thought when he reached the "new land". He thought he reached asia, and the natives he saw here were people from india. That's not racism, that's a misinterpretation that developed into a socially acceptable term used commonly today as Natives, Native Indians, Indians.

sonick 06-18-2009 11:59 AM

^ Though not exactly racist like the N-word, it does carry historical negative connotations; similar to the use of "Japs" and "Orientals".

lol you got ripped, pinks are commercially worth 2-5 cents a pound... avg pink is ~3lbs

please do not support the natives, especially when the sockeye come in

Its still a lot cheaper than buying individual slices from Save On Foods or IGA though, no? The fish were quite large too.
