Doing this right now.
Yeah, her parents freaked for a while, but later we determined we are from different villas. Who really gives a crap though, since all of us Chinese are cousins of each other and every family knows ALL their relatives, down to 2nd cousins if not further, so you'd know real fast if there was a problem.
For those of you who think same last names = incest, keep in mind that having different last names doesn't guarantee NO incest either. 
The only time I got a hard time was from Canadian Customs coming back from Seattle.
Officer: How do you know each other?
Me: We're dating, sir.
Officer: But you have the same last name..
Me: Don't ask. 
And yes, we've already joked that if things work out there's no messy ID changing involved. | |

The only thing I would hate if they both had girly names but their husband and wife like Kelly and Christine. Sounds lesbian. or I know Frankie and Gordon that got married and my family thought he was gay but Frankie turned out to be a girl.

Someone at my old workplace is called Don and Donna ****.
I think the same last name is fine. However, if you dated someone who has the same first name as your mom, sister, dad, bro, etc.. that would be fucked. Imaging you are screaming their name out in bed..
