| would you date the someone with the same last name as you?
Let's say you were a Chan. Would you date another Chan?
What about dating somebody with your mother's maiden name?
Would you do it?

That wouldn't even come close to being a factor to whether or not I would date a girl, that decision isn't based on last names.
She could be the girl of my dreams with the last name Rumpelstiltskin for all I care

I don't see why not? =S
Afterall, it's just a name.
Do you filter who you date by names?

No man. That's Wong. So Wong. I mean, serious Li.
But in all honesty, I don't have that issue. Maybe with my mom's maiden name (Li) but not with my dad's. Yay for latin based European last names.

I wouldn't have an issue with either,
then again my last name is pretty uncommon.

No issue here. I mean if there's a chick I'm totally into too I wouldn't think in my mind "man she's hot, love her personality, we get along so well and I'm totally into her, oh wait she has the same last name fuck it".

They say that in Chinese practices that dating or marrying someone the same last name as you is like marrying your sibling. But that's what they say.

Hahaha. Not exactly a name but this reminds me of one time. I once got laid because a chick I met had the exact same birthday as me, right down to the year.

are you guys saying you wouldn't mind dating someone with the same last name as you based on a hypothetical situation or have you actually done it or know someone who has?

You would also save an argument about her insisting on keeping her last name lol
The difference between my last name and my gf's (Chan) is an extra 3 letter. Last names dont matter much in the greater scheme of things, unless your family objects and you're a mama's boy, then you're SOL.
