I hate it when im driving a truck and people think im high-beaming since the DRL/low beams hot spots are in live with their line of sight

I always thought those bikes had faulty wiring until I learned of the modulators. :haha:

4.05(8) A motorcycle may be equipped with modulating headlamps if the headlamps comply with section 5.6 of the Technical Standards Document No. 108, Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (Canada).

Multiple beam headlamps

4.06 (1) The headlamps of a motor vehicle must function so that the driver may select lamps capable of displaying

(a) an upper beam of light which, regardless of the load on the vehicle, will reveal an object at a distance of 100 m, and

(b) a lower beam of light which, regardless of the load on the vehicle, will reveal an object at a distance of 30 m and the high intensity portion of the lower beam will not strike the eye of an oncoming driver.

It says that you may select lower or upper, but not both.

They don't flash from low to high, they modulate the brightness of the beam.

Doesn't say you CAN'T do both, either ;) :D

I once had a huge raised truck behind me blinding me with his spot lights. And in front of me I had a jackass with what looked like a mirror strapped as his rearwindshield. one guys lights hit his mirror and into my eyes.

i quickly left and was wondering how it felt to be the raised truck behind the mirror. taste of his own medicine

bump... so will officers pull over drivers using their high beams improperly? they really need to start pulling people over in Richmond - too many people just turn them on because "i can see better" (the excuse my mom made before I flamed at her)

They showed this on the news when they started doing drinking and driving counterattack's last Christmas:

A guy got pulled over and the officer was teaching him how to turn off his highbeams.

It just happened that the camera crew was there interviewing an officer and they panned to the guy who happened to be pulled over at the time and the officer was explaining how the high beams are turned on and off...haha.

This morning at around 8am, some d-bag in an E92 3-series at 41st and W. Boulevard had his high beams on. At 8am in the morning, wtf?!?!

Especially shitty is when it's raining, when even more people turn on their high beams and all that does is shine into my eyes and reflect off the rain on my winshield making it even harder to see!

It's weird because low beams are better when there is fog out but people seem to think that if their high beams are on, they see better when in reality the light refracts from the fog and makes it into a mirror.

You should just turn on your fog lights so that other people can see you and you may see slightly better.

Whenever I see it, I do. We hate getting blinded just as much as the general public. :thumbsup:

lol with a lowered car, every light becomes a pain in the ass, high beam or low beam...as do speed bumps at lansdowne. Just the price u pay...

On the topic of headlights, I saw an officer driving a police cruiser in Richmond last Thursday, without any lights on. It was raining, and in the evening. He had his DRL on, but from behind, it was hard to see him unless he was braking. :nono:

this isn't only limited to richmond :p

i drive downtown for work and i always see people with non-HIDs high beaming. this is with ANY type of weather too!! makes me so mad sometimes.

i see taxi cabs with high beams on all the time...pisses me off...

^City buses, too.

i havn't really seen any busses with high beams on. But damn those cabs. I need to install some special lights just for them.

i can never tell the difference between regular and hi beam on trucks direclt behind me. always in my eyes T.T
