Stupid Vandals

Okay i am so pissed off right now.
My integra got egged 2 times in 2 days.

The first time got egged was 2 nights ago from 1am-10am.

The second time was last night at 1am where i heard a loud BOOM and my alarm went off. I thought someone shattered window or something so i ran outside but no one and nothing was in sight other than egg shells on my hood, windshield, hatch and the ground. Egg yoke and shit was running down my hood, rear window, side etc so i cleaned it off on the spot.

It was pretty hard to get off so i was pretty pissed. Saw some chip marks, swirls and white stains that i could not get off. So i read that only way to fix this is re-paint.

I called the cops, but they said they couldn't do anything. Well the paint is messed up so i am planning to report to ICBC.

Is egging covered under ICBC? I have comprehensive coverage but i wonder what will they say when i tell them im reporting because my car got egged.

Don't know if ICBC covers it or not but sucks to hear that, i know how your feeling:(

btw it's vandals not vandalisms:P

Someone hates you .. ):

thumper 06-18-2009 06:09 AM

yes. if you have vandalism coverage. my dad's work van was egged a few years back and he claimed it with icbc, and he had to pay the deductible for an $800 repair (one front fender and hood). it left these circular dotted rings radiating from the point of impact, along with the staining from the yolk splatter. it happened in the middle of the night so it had lots of time to dry on the van :(

ilvtofu 06-18-2009 08:01 AM

You should park it in the same spot and wait for these guys to come back in your house, holding a shotgun, and then chase them the fuck down!

Yeah. My car got egged the whole car all around. I have these drip marks in yellowish color that looks like my clear coat was over sprayed. =(

my car got egged once... it left all sortsa weird ass gunk, but i got it detailed (after i washed it too), and it left small scratches (were visible after the car got dirty again).

Can ICBC people see the damages done by the eggs? Im afraid they might say "thats from regular oxidation and aging" then im screwed.

Meowjin 06-18-2009 02:47 PM

the first week i got my tl, I had 4 cans of garbage thrown on it, and it was egged on a regular basis.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck =(

But to answer this question, ICBC should see the damage. My car got egged a few years ago. The paint on my car was 10+ years old, and ICBC wasn't hesitant or anything to allow me to paint the panels, as long as I paid the deductable. Actually the inspector was quite nice about it. One of the eggs actually hit my taillight, left very minor fine scratches (which I did not even notice if not for the inspector), they even reimbursed me for that in the end.

ilvtofu 06-18-2009 09:17 PM

LOL my car's printout of vandalism reports to ICBC was huge!
Windows were scheduled to be broken into!

ooooh yeah. paint dosen't age with the tree-ring type of damage my dad had. and the egg yolk trail on a dark blue finish was kind of obvious... unless there are birds out there who can crap horizontally with that kind of equivalent force :o

ilvtofu 06-19-2009 11:02 AM

yup at least for HSers, I think Gr12s still have provincials though

ecsw 06-19-2009 11:35 AM

wait until they egg your house. :(

I have to put up security cameras.... eggs, paint ball guns, ringing the door bell.

I almost caught them with my Pilot on my way home and almost run them over. That gets me more eggs in return.

fucking punks. It's going to get worse in the summer....
