Jackie Chan spoke of his sadness at having missed Michael Jackson's call prior to the American star's death.

"I missed Michael's last call to me. I returned his call as soon as my assistant told me about it, but he did not answer. It makes me feel very sad," Jackie Chan told Sina.com with more than a hint of grief in his voice, "As a good friend of Michael, I think that death represents a kind of escape for him."

Taiwan music band Soda Green told Sina.com that they too were very sorry to hear of Michael's sudden death. "Michael Jackson had a huge influence on our band," they said. "No one could match Michael's music and dancing. He was a huge figure in the music business. We were all great fans of his and feel very sad about his death."

"I feel a great sense of loss. We always tend to love those whom we lose - people are often like that. I have been especially moved by his loyal fans. Michael is a true Legend," said Sammi Cheng, a Hong Kong singer and actress.

"Michael Jackson will always be a giant in my musical world, always!" said JJ Lin. The Singaporean-Chinese Pop Singer was too shocked to accept Michael's sudden death. JJ performed and danced to a cover version of Michael's "Beat it" during his Beijing concert in June. He has always looked upon Michael as an idol.

"I am staggered - I thought that his ill-health was under control. I could never have imagined that he might pass away so suddenly," said JJ. "Michael is and will remain a giant in my musical world! His fire lives on in my heart!”

 what a retard...Jackie Chan = Hyde.

If you guys read the article properly Jackie Chan "missed" his last phone call as in he was unable to pick up. Then he tried calling back was unable to reach him.

smk 06-30-2009 10:18 AM

I can barely understand Jackie Chan's English in movies

InvisibleSoul 06-30-2009 10:24 AM

Yeah, I'm not understanding what the problem here is.

So just because in the article it says that they are friends, that means it's true?

Yeah, I know comprehension is important, but critical thinking is even moreso.

Please, if you've ever paid attention to Jackie's news and actually know people who know him in person. This guy is full of shit.

JesseBlue 06-30-2009 07:37 PM

we should just disregard everything we hear in the news, even if its for the sake of conversation, and ask questions.

news; 2 ppl shot dead on robson street

willystyle asks: were you actually there? how do you know they were shot? unless you actually know the people that were shot dead in person, this report is full of shit

I know people who work close enough with him to give any credibility to what was said in those articles.

and... yes, we should believe everything that's said in the media because they are 100% accurate and unbiased..

i didnt make any guarantee's about the accuracy of the statement. the news can say w/e it wants to, everyone knows that. when something comes out of the media we have no choice but to just talk about it. ever coined the phrase "for the sake of conversation..." ? lets say britney spears died ... are you one of those people that would step in and say BUT SHES ALIVE!

if you're going to live up to your logic about discrediting the news article, you should post skepticism in every single news thread ever posted on RS, rather than talking about it or sharing an opinion.

maybe you are 1 person away from an A-list celebrity, maybe you're full of shit just like the news. either way, you should've replied with something like "my dad knows jackie chan, they were talking about michael jackson and jackie chan clearly said he wasnt MJ's friend" rather than your original post, which gives us no indication of sarcasm or the fact that you know something other people dont.
