| Wii international?
One of my students is here for the next 7 months or so and is looking at getting a Wii, but she's not certain she wants to pick it up because she's not sure if she can take it back to Korea.
The big questions are whether or not the powersupply is compatible with the Korean voltage, and whether or not the games are region-locked.
Much appreciated for any advice, guys!

The converter can be easily dealt with - if Korea is 220v, you can get 3rd party 220v adapters, or use a voltage step-up converter.
But games are region locked, so she'll have to import games from Canada or US to play.

is she going to buy the korean Wii in the future?
if not, stick with Wii US....and it's more expensive to buy a Wii US in Asia. She can always sell it afterward.

The problem she faces is she wants to keep buying games and the like, but if she can't get games in korea that'll work with a Wii from here, she might not get it.
Is modding an option? How safe is it?

We run NTSC, in Asia/Europe they usually use PAL
A mod chip can resolve this issue

I modded a Wii with the drive key, it's really easy and is safe because all you do is take the Wii apart, plug the drive key in and you're done.
