I have to point out that 70% of current Chinese banks' lending were made to infrastructures like railways/highways these days.

Develops are having a shitload of problem securing loans for their real estate projects, not to mention consumer loans.

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

wow... that video is sad.... i wonder if those were dead han chinese or uighurs (i know all the chinese are gonna say its all HAN CHINESE but that doesnt confirm anything) cuz some of those bloody guys look like uighurs

if you look at BBC reports (who've pretty much been the only news agency that's gone into China for years investigating the Uighur plight) China's done a lot worse to them...

the violence now although not excusable isn't unjustifiable... riots/violence has been building up i guess this is just the boiling point

I'm sure the majority of the victims in the video were Han Chinese when the Uighurs first started the riot. The Hans fought back later on.

I don't think the Chinese Government wants to do that especially with their 60th Anniversary celebration coming up in October.

How the mess started ---> http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=awcbCPNKDyGQ

2 Uighur migrant worker working in a toy factory in Guangdong got beaten to death by a bunch of Han people which caused all this craziness. I believe there was always a lot of social unrest and tension in that part of the region just like Tibet.

Sigh, it's sad that something so small can trigger such a big riot. I guess the ppl have a lot of anger pent up inside.

The violence, sparked by a fight in a toy factory in Guangdong province, prompted President Hu Jintao to cut short his visit to a Group of Eight summit in Italy, where world leaders are discussing the global economy.

Huang Cuilian, a 19-year-old worker from rural Guangdong, said she accidentally entered the wrong dormitory at the factory where she worked, Xinhua reported yesterday. She said she screamed and fled after seeing Uighur men in the room.

“I just felt they were unfriendly so I turned and ran,” Huang was quoted as saying. One man stood and stamped his feet as if he might chase her, the news agency cited her saying. “I later realized that he was just making fun of me,” she said.

Xinhua said the June 26 fight, which left two people dead and more than 100 injured, erupted over allegations of sexual assault on the Han woman by a Uighur worker. The factory fight sparked the rioting in Xinjiang, where the natives are Turkic- speaking Uighurs who complain of political and cultural discrimination and repression.

False Rumors

Demonstrators in Urumqi gathered on the evening of July 5 to protest that the Chinese government failed to protect the Guangdong migrant workers and hadn’t pursued those responsible. Two days later, Xinhua reported that police detained 15 people in connection with the fight.

Two of those held were arrested for spreading false rumors about a sexual assault by migrant Uighur workers at the factory.

Ethnic minorities from China’s poor western regions are lured to wealthier coastal areas by higher-paying jobs than they get at home. Guangdong province, home to many of China’s factories, has 1.5 million ethnic minority workers, Xinhua said.

Chinese officials say the unrest in Urumqi has been fanned by alleged separatists. Xinhua quoted the chairman of the Xinjiang regional government, Nur Bekri, as calling the factory fight “an isolated incident.”

wow... fucking bitch should be hung... look at what she caused by accusing ppl of wanting to rape her when she went into their dorm and then said "oh hehe mistake"

i'd say two people being beaten to death at their place of work for having different beliefs is far from a small incident. riots have been sparked by far less in various countries around the world.

**conspiracy warning - no evidence, just pondering
with there being so many stories of corruption from government/police in china it makes me wonder if they didn't contribute to the riots in order to justify to those in china and the international community a major crackdown to squash the Uighurs. one attempt perhaps could have been to convince jailed prisoners or paid the poor to dress/act like Uighurs and release them to unleash the most violent of acts during the riots. im not saying this is what happened. i don't have any evidence of this but when i first heard the stories of the riots i began to think how could the chinese government gain from it. how could they twist the situation in their favour.

they've done that in other riots before against the Falun Gong

BBCnews is showing (at this moment) peaceful protesters who are being herded up and beaten by Chinese riot police the BBC reports at this point they had to turn their cameras off and leave as the Chinese began arresting reporters

^Majority of the victims were Han, according to Malcolm Moore, a reporter of The Telegraph.

^i'm afraid this is the effect of community and mass anger.. the anger just rub off one another and keeps building up.. and this is what the video is showing.. the result of it....

it's sad...

i don't even really understand who's fault it is... everyone is attacking everyone... it's not like it's just the Han attacking the Uighurs.. it's the other way around as well
