Should I report this driver to ICBC/RCMP?

I was driving east bound on 10th ave in Burnaby, on the right lane, no more than 40 km/hr (Raining and 5pm rush hour, as if I can drive faster), this car in front of me, for no reason that I can see, did a suddne break out of no where.

At first I thought he's a noob at driving a stick, but he repeated this for 2-3 times, even when I kept a car's length.

I began noticing him constanting looking into his rear view mirror, and only stops when I was accelerating. So I switched onto the left lane and confronted him, at which point he turned his head away from my car and gased off, not before I managed to get a picture of his face, and his plate number.

What's with that?

bengy 07-06-2009 06:22 PM

was he asian?

Carl Johnson 07-06-2009 06:23 PM

impactX 07-06-2009 06:25 PM

wouwou 07-06-2009 06:29 PM

^No, not Asian, white in 40s driving an old Mercury;

^^An overweighted Asian as police officer? not even in Vancouver :D

^^^Yeah I know, and he chanted "My life for Aiur" too

murd0c 07-06-2009 06:29 PM

I always do that to tailgatters they drive me crazy.

wouwou 07-06-2009 06:33 PM

^That's why I kept a car's length, so that I won't appear as if I was tailgating.

Not to mention, I kept a safe distance too. It's Monday, raining, and 5pm,

edit: I wasNT going anywhere in a hurry.

CRS 07-06-2009 06:37 PM

Go report him.

End of story. Stop asking RS for moral dilemmas or judgment questions. If you think you should, you probably should.

impactX 07-06-2009 06:52 PM

and do you mind testifying in court if they issue a ticket to him?

MarkyMark 07-06-2009 06:52 PM

Go and report him, nothing will come of it cause he'll deny it and you don't have any witnesses or actual proof.

wouwou 07-06-2009 07:02 PM

^true

^^no, I wont mind doing that at all

^^^Probably

Harvey Specter 07-06-2009 07:09 PM

Ok, why is this worth reporting and why is it such a big deal? I'm not been an asshole but who cares if he brake checked you. I mean seriously what would you do if you had to drive down in LA or NY? You would have a list of 5 drivers you wanted to report within 1 minute of driving, lol.

boss_clad 07-06-2009 07:22 PM

why would you report that to police?

what the hell are they going to do. he didn't break the law in front of them, so on what grounds could they arrest him for. if you witnessed them stealing or killing someone ,then ok.

but seriously, what could they possibly do to him?

shit like this happens all the time on the road, suck it up buttercup.

wouwou would be the witness and police can issue a ticket.

BNR32_Coupe 07-06-2009 07:53 PM

i notice crap like that all the time. then when you look at the driver, they look at YOU like you're the bad driver. either that or the just smile/laugh

Leopold Stotch 07-06-2009 08:16 PM

Personaly for me
i wouldn't ever brake check someone unless they were doing something to annoy me to need to do that. so maybe you did something to piss him off?

teddyah 07-06-2009 08:49 PM

what color was this idiots car ???

I encountered a similar situation going down Rupert street. Breaking for no apparent reason in the middle of the intersection, breaking every couple seconds after that and he was going like 40kmh. I just wanted to ram him off the road

Death2Theft 07-06-2009 09:49 PM

Uh with the economy going the way it is , have you ever thought the guy was trying to cause an accident? Anytime you rear end someone your at fault so he can sue the pants off you. I would totally report this to icbc because the person that does wind up rear ending him at least wont get totally scammed.
