anyone notice those female drivers(30-50 age) in richmond driving like a dumbfuck with no sense at all? They dont shoulder check while changing lanes, no signal light while turning, dont give a fuck while backing up, pretend to be innocent when she realized that she had done sth wrong and almost fucked up ppl who shares the road.

drivers in general are worse now. Too many ppl can not drive and talk on a cell phone ( running stop signs ). The art of shoulder checking has been lost. I lost count as to how many times I almost got hit by cars not only in my car but even worse when I am on the bike.

oh oh! my driving story of the day!

Time: between 3 and 345
Location: Highway 99 going from Surrey to richmond around the S curve.


so this bmw x5 was driving about 80k in the left lane when the speed limit on that road is 90. there is other traffic on the right lane going at 90. myself and this prelude driver are doing the race car weave trying to get the ladies attention, but no luck. can't go on the right cuz there's about 3 others cars with 1 car length, however one driver realizes that this bmw is holding us up and is going slower than him, so he slows down so the prelude driver can cut in front of the bimmer and I also switch lanes. the prelude and I drop our speeds to crawling rate of 40kish , and the bimmer has to break in order to slow down. the white guy realizing this he also slow down a bit so she has no way to change lanes, but only to follow our speed at 40k. then the prelude started to pickup speed and the bimmer followed, she then tries to moves to the right lane to cut in front of me , but no luck i speed up, and she cuts behind me. guess what i do? i drop my speed to 30k , and so the prelude. this went on until Shell Rd. where we all had to stop for at the lights near the rail tracks. the prelude guy gets out of teh car and walks to the bimmer and starts saying something , first she didnt put the window, but a bit later , she puts the window n starts yelling how we are dangerous drivers - then the prelude guy gave it to her, like she was the last person on earth... then he went back to his car cuz the light was going to turn. Finally i had to switch lanes in order to turn at kwantlen , then she tried to gas it , but , prelude guy cuts in front of her and drops his speed below 50 ( 50 is city limit there ) in order piss her off even more. this was the best retaliation i've ever been a part of. i'm sure she'll never ever ever go below the limit in the left lane again...

the third car = pontiac - some white dude..

I actually had a double case of this two days ago which was lame as fuck. First off, some chick in a Durango goes to change lines while I'm driving right beside her and this forces me to swerve into the oncoming lane (luckily no cars were oncoming haha) and she proceeds to drive forwards as if nothing had happened. Following this was a woman turning left yet she doesn't signal until almost done the turn. Ridiculous I tell you.

on topic, its fucking richmond, dont expect much. basically you have to pay twice as much attention when ever you're there.
surrey is getting bad too. ppl LOVE to hog the left lane in surrey.

I don't know why people all complain about Richmond. It's really not that bad.

If someone's going below the limit, just pass them. Who cares? There are crappy drivers everywhere. This rule also applies to crappy classmates, crappy coworkers..

I will admit I get pissed on the road if someone actually goes out of their way to provoke me, but if it was more of a bad habit like someone cutting me off or not shoulder-checking, maybe they just forgot from driving school? They'll be paying the bigger premiums anyways.

It might be just how females are wired too. My mom and sister get into more accidents and parking dings than both my dad and I. And I am pretty sure I can say this about my friend's families too based on what they tell me. I actually think it's more that girls in general tend not to think in terms of "logical sequences and procedures" and more like "feel/instinct" but what do I know. Of course, there are always exceptions. But there's a reason why there are WAY more guys in Engineering and WAY more girls in Fine Arts.

You know what's scary? People my gf and I call C-lais in the making. Asian girls in their teens/twenties that you just take 1 look at and think to yourself "yup, she's gonna end up becoming some housewife who serves no purpose other than cooking, cleaning, and getting banged in about 10 years." These can be spotted in the form of girls who seem completely oblivious to everything around them (including social situations, other traffic, what they want to major to be in school) and can't even make up their mind to go to a friend's gathering or which OJ to buy at the supermarket. And yes, they are also hella scary on the roads. It's disheartening because you realize the percentage of them is just going to increase.

Imagine how much profit the show "Canada's Worst Drivers" would make filming in Richmond.

I was hit by 3 different women within 1 month, 6 years ago. These were the only accidents I've been involved with for the last 13 years of my driving life.

First accident - This is in Surrey. I was driving my brother to school south on 88th avenue in my dad's caravan. I came to a complete stop and there's 4 cars stopped at the red light in front of me on my lane. I look in my rear view mirror and spotted a quick approaching car. I couldn't do jack, then she rear ended me. She didn't even slam on her brakes. This is on a sunny dry day. She's white. She then tells me that she knows a body shop that can fix the "scratch" for under 500 bucks so I shouldn't go through icbc. I go through icbc and the damage is over 2000 for the bumper.

Second accident - This is in Burnaby. Driving buddy home from BCIT. I'm in my teg this time. An asian lady rolls through a stop sign on my right side, close to grange and McMurray. I try to swerve, and actually avoid her from hitting my front fender. But, she continues to roll out and smoke my rear qtr panel! wtf. My car did a 180 spin.

Third - This one is so stupid. It's in Surrey and she's white. I'm stopped at a red light with a car in front. King george and 96 ave. This one is with my rental pontiac grand am, because the other cars were smashed by 2 women and were in body shops. Anyway, so I hear hard braking behind me and look in my mirror and of course, I see a fat white chick holding a burger in one hand and about to hit me. Yes, she hits me hard and when I look again, she's still holding her damn burger!

Bottom line - I don't think it matters about race or city. It's women.

Dam there is a lot of misogyny in this thread. I just consider them bad drivers, not bad FEMALE WOMEN GIRL drivers.

A lot of drivers in the Vancouver area are just terrible. It's like they're either pissed off, stoned, or just don't know how to drive.
