If I'm spending $1600 on a computer, there's no way in hell I'd buy one off the shelf, even if you don't get "as good of specs."
Drop that down to 6 GB of RAM and you get yourself the same specs everywhere else on that build, plus you get a GOOD case with GOOD airflow, a GOOD heatsink, a GOOD power supply, a GOOD motherboard, and no crapware (things that aren't advertised in the specs). Plus every part will carry at least a 3-year warranty, which you'd have to spend a small fortune on to get at Futureshop, nullifying any cost savings.
