| HID legal colour limit?
Hi everyone I'm sure this would've been covered somewhere in RS
But what's the legal colour temperature?
I see all these kits for 3000k, 4300K, 6000K, and 8000k
I also believe higher temps aren't as bright?
Also if my car didn't come with daytime running lights do I need to turn on mu ambers or whatever u call em?

I run with 6000K. I don't know how to fix mine coz I think I glare at people. (I need help on this too) My car didn't come with daytime running lights too LOL. I think my amber turn signals are fine.

Same! I don't turn on anything.
Yeah, there's a screw there but I've tried and make my lamp face downwards as much as I can.
I don't use my HID's coz it's on Highbeam.
I don't know why but everytime I drive at night, it seems like everyone's using Highbeam :S

all of the aftermarket kits are illegal. non of them are aproved for use.
yes you need to wire up DRL's that turn on automaticly if your car doesn't have them.

There isnt really a definitive "legal" colour. Acura/Lexus seem to use 4300K (white). BMW has a slight blue to it, so i think its around 5000k-6000k. These are all legal since they are from factory.
but every aftermarket HID kits out there are illegal.

don't install HID's unless you have projectors or are going to install projectors. You'll just end up looking like a douche when you blind everyone.

ALL oem system use 4300k as their color temperature...the "blue" tint that you see are not 6000k or higher bulbs but the prism effect of the projector at the cutoff

HID retrofits are illegal.
HID retrofits are borderline dangerous when retrofitted on a car that does not have projector housings.
DRLs do NOT need to be retrofitted to cars of a certain age. Don't ask me what age though -- you'll have to look in the Transport Canada guidelines, but I'm guessing that your car is old enough to be exempt from needing DRLs (it's probably grandfathered under the rules in place at the time of manufacture).
Many vehicles use ambers as DRLs, as it is acceptable. Check out a Chrysler minivan some time.
