NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Three people have been shot at a celebration on the Capilano Reserve in North Vancouver. It happened around 11:30 p.m., hours before an anti-abuse and anti-violence rally was scheduled to take place.
News1130 listener Lisa tells us her 15-year-old niece saw everything. "She's in shock right now. She hasn't come out yet and told us what happened. There were a lot of kids that saw it too..."
She says many of the kids actually moved closer to the shooting because they thought the sound of gunfire was fireworks.
Corporal Fred Harding with the West Vancouver Police says the investigation is on-going. "We've got full partnership and cooperation from the Squamish Nation and the West Vancouver Police. We've got chiefs and council, peacekeepers and certainly trying to find out who was responsible."
Anyone with more information about the shooting is asked to call West Vancouver Police.

The Rez = Vancouver's compton.
Took a drive through there one night and saw beat down cars parked on lawns with additional junk, garbage all over the place, and I'm not shitting you when I saw a pack of dogs just roaming the street together.
What happens on the Rez should stay on the Rez, its like a different world.
