Big Money Exotics in West Van/Highway 99 today No pics but I have to share what I saw today. First I saw a Ford GT pulled over at one of the Caulfield exits on the upper-levels highway. It was painted in the blue/orange scheme (I believe the term is the LeMans Gulf style). Anyway it was pulled over with its trunk (hood if it was front engined) up and a new Lexus SUV beside it which looked to be jumping it. I can only assume the Ford GTs have their batteries front mounted. Great looking car anyway. Second car I saw was coming back on the Sea to Sky highway around Lions Bay going South bound (enroute from Whistler I can only assume) was a gorgeous black Mercedes SLR convertible. Needless to say I almost drove my car off the road cranking my neck around to check that thing out. The road presence of that vehicle is insane. Sorry no pics, was driving and cell phone was dead. Anyone in the area seen these vehicles around? Can't imagine there is more than one of either of those cars around the lower mainland. I'll add some google images for interest's sakes. http://www.gotbroken.com/wp-content/...ew-588x441.jpg http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cro...-11_460x0w.jpg |
SLR roadster has been spotted tons of times in West Van, Downtown and has showed up to various car events. The Ford GT has also been spotted, I think someone here snapped some pictures of it. |
Any words on the owners of these beauties? Locals? Some seriously spendy vehicles. Also saw a white R8 taking the 1st Ave exit after the Cassiar connector...second time I've seen that one I believe. |
is that SLR with the SLR license plate? if so thats the german car fest one |
haha, i saw that exact Ford GT today on the side of road by taylor way exit. are you sure it was caulfield and not taylor way though? the lexus was beside it as well. the GT had number 3 on it. have seen that SLR many times around. there's actually two of them and the other day i spotted both. one has red interior with ontario plates, other has beige interior with bc plates. also saw a red 430 spider today on marine drive. |
I saw the SLR Roadster in downtown today |
The Ford GT is currently in our service bay - it's battery is dead due to a lack of driving. BTW the Gulf LeMans colour scheme is called "heritage colours" on the GT. :) |
Must've been Taylor Way exit, not Caulfield for the GT. Not sure if this SLR was the one with red interior from ON or the other one. |
