how to remember names?
 

How do you guys remember names? Especially when you have just met 5-6 people at once at a party? What do you do when you see them again and you recognize their face but not their name?

I have the same problem and i tend to remember only the females or pretty ones names

I pretend someone sms me...then I type their names and store in my phone

^I like that idea; but depending on the situation it might be rude.

I'm also bad with names, but I generally try to address people by their names when I talk to them, particularly if we just met. I find that it helps me remember.

...Though, I'm still pretty bad lol

speaking of addressing people by their names...don't you hate people repeating your name every fucking sentence?

"Zhangfei, I really like your clothes, where did you get it Zhangfei. Zhangfei!! you are kidding me Zhangfei Zhangfei Zhangfei"

if it's a name that can be spelled in more than one way, I get their number and ask them how their name is spelled.

You know what's so funny. When I introduced myself and getting accquainted with everyone and I was doing handshakes one after the other. That shit was so immediate. I was getting someone's name and then I shook hands with them and then before I could record that in my brain, someone pops off to my left and then introduces himself/herself and then we're shaking hands. Then I fucking blanked out. Then the ONLY NAME i could remember was MY NAME hahahaha. Quite a lot the names were in Japanese too hahahaha, not like names like Bob, Mary or whatever Anglo-Saxon name that already know and all I had to do was match that name in my brain with the face. Then the alpha female of the group got me to write down my name and contacts in her blackbook. Then she read it proceeded to refer to me by name during the whole time I was there. Then the people started to pick up my name and then THEY started to use my name. Then I was thinking like, FUCK! I don't remember any of your names!! I felt like such a dick hahahaha..... I recognize their faces though... Even after when I had to bounce I was like referring them in third person saying "Hey guys, I had a blast. It was great meeting you guys." And in exchange they were all referring to me by name.. Hahahahaha

I think if I'm gonna chill with them again, I'm going to wait until someone refers to someone by name and then talk to them by name. If someone else has a better method..... come holla at da kid!

I'm terrible at remembering names. I can remember faces though. Sad. Ahaha.

I forget their name as they tell it to me, its like

Girl: "Hey my name is jasmine, nice to meet you"
Me: "Hi jas.......wow nice boobs"

I just ask them again

I don't bother remembering if it's the first time I've seen them. If i see or talk to them again- i remember automatically.

lol i have the same problem usually people around me know the persons name, and if not i just try and make conversation and get there name again

Honestly I know 100's of people and don't remember there names since I go months with
Out talkiing to some. I just straight up say damm what's your name again I forgot its better

I have the same problem man. I usually pick a characteristic of the person and try and relate that to their name. Like Danielle Davies has DD tits so its proper easy!!

ohhhh buddy I am the worst at names...latley its not just names tho its like i kinda remember their face but i dont remember where from then they have a start to have a convo wit me and im like FUCK wat do i do, i know i recognize her face but thats all? Most girls would be pretty hurt if u didn't remember them so I try to play along with it but im not very good at it lol I think my face gives it away.

I just giggle and admit that I don't remember their names cuz I'm bad with them. And when they tell me for the 5th time that night, I tend to remember after that. =P

the best way to remember names is this.. and suprisingly it works extremely well:

-Hi, my name is john

-john?, nice to meet you john...

it sounds gay, but people don't really notice you said it twice and you really do remember their name. saw it on tv or something once... lol

I don't try to remember. I only remember if they make a lasting impression (i.e a good conversation, interesting person, something in common). If they're meh, then they're not worth remembering.

lol i don't know how you guys remember names, usually once i look away i forget it all, even worse at parties i don't even remember how i got home. good times.
