Which racing game do you like best???

Was thinking about the top racing games i've played and loved, been playing midnight club again still havent finished it yet.
anyways what racing game is your favorite, or which racing game do you think was built the best.

for me its midnight club i think they really did a good job with the new game, but my all time favorite racing game has been NFSU 2 i just thought they did an awesome jop with how you have to find all the performance places, and shops around the city.

i've never played grid, but i have played GT and forza and thoses types of games are not for me

BLUETIGER 07-14-2009 08:39 PM

Battle Gear 2 and 3

twitchyzero 07-14-2009 08:41 PM

Original Need For Speed, Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed, Need for Speed Underground (despite all the rice hate), Daytona USA, and recently Gran Turismo.

Im really interested to see what the upcoming NFS has in store for us, they're going back to their roots of racing sims and I kinda left that series because they chose to go to the arcade route...

I've tried Grid and Dirt before and it's an awesome mix of arcade/racing sim.

On console, Grid was epic, but I can't wait for NFS: Shift and Forza Motorsport 2.

In the arcades, I'm torn between Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3, and Battle Gear 4 Tuned.

hi-revs 07-14-2009 10:18 PM

For me its: GT 1,2,3,4,5 and Tourist Trophy.

Cman333 07-14-2009 10:44 PM

Gran Turismo series
Grid and Dirt were pretty awesome too
Live for Speed

For arcade like fun Midnight Club: LA was fun.

Games I didn't really like: Sega Rally, Juiced, NFS, GTR 2.

lilaznviper 07-14-2009 11:02 PM

juiced was a big failure for me too

I prefer the sim style racing games over the arcade style:
- Gran Turismo (own them all!)
- Forza 2
- GTR2 (PC)
- RACE, WTCC (PC)
- Need For Speed (the first one for PC)

GT and Forza bore me to death.

The only racing games I actually played for a long time were NFS Most Wanted and Burnout

6insomnia9 07-15-2009 03:39 AM

Grid Forza and dirt.
Best 3 , need for speed got old after the first few..

Dragon-88 07-15-2009 10:07 AM

PC: Live for speed (they have a demo)
Xbox: Dirt, Forza 2

I remember playing this at Playdium when it was still around. I fucking loved at the time, even though I was like 8.

Have you tried LFS for pc??? I have a feeling you will like it very much... Nos was not meant for this game which is a awesome A+++ for an online simulator...

This game has Autocross, 8 Lane Drag Strip, drift tracks and drifting on race tracks... Lots of 3rd party mods, IE Drifting points counter, rally with custom ramps. and more... all simulation cars only and they all come with handicaps if you want to race a slower car with your faster car... Graphics arent the best (old game with lots of updates)... There now is a website that changes the appearance of the vehicle now you can get ferraris and R34 skins...

That rally game was awesome. I remember back in when I was 12 or 13, I beat this guy in his 20's.
He started to make excuses after he lost to a little kid. lol.
I love race sim games, but hate arcade style racing games.
Except for maximum tuning, that was pretty fun.
GT and forza are my favorite.
Can't wait for forza 3 to come out.

CorneringArtist 07-16-2009 02:12 PM

Isn't that Sega Rally? Holy crap I remember that game in the arcade and on the Sega Saturn. That one was damn epic as well!

I totally kicked ass in Virtua Racing & Daytona USA. Also loved Gran Trak 10, Pole Position, Outrun.
