Texting while driving

Just saw the video on ChekTV where a woman was driving down Douglas St. and texing while steering with her knees.you can view the vid at the chek link.

They should pass a law where if you see someone texting while driving, you are legally allowed to duct tape the person to their trunk, and then administer a Cleveland Steamer.

Is responding to this thread on my phone while driving still ok?:(

mspeedP5 07-16-2009 08:17 PM

What a tool...
Hope the cops get her tag and give her some grief.

I wonder if driving with undue consideration, or however it's worded, would apply in this kind of situation.

HAHAHAH!!

I text while I am driving... get good at it and you don't even have to take your eyes off the road. So once again they are going to bring in a law that f's over everyone based on a few people who are stupid about it.

PS... even though I text while driving, I keep my eyes on the road and one hand on the wheel. I don't condone what that woman was doing.

^ Wow your a fucking idiot and you don't even realize it. Please off yourself immediately.

koukimonst3r 07-18-2009 01:40 AM

I admit I text and drive, can't help it (:

Nightwalker 07-18-2009 02:55 AM

I do it all the time, barely glance at the screen while doing it. Often wait if I'm near a lot of traffic or whatever though.

same! I don't do it when I'm on patullo bridge LOL

Enraged 07-18-2009 10:10 AM

why cant people just take 2 seconds to pull off the road? are you really in that much of a rush?

"ya officer i had a few drinks, but not as much as THAT guy"

Nightwalker 07-18-2009 06:47 PM

Do you pull off the road to change the track on the stereo, or change CDs? Do you pull over to talk to your passengers? When I'm on the highway from up here to Victoria for 2 hours with no stops, you bet I'll return txts.

rental_metard 07-18-2009 07:03 PM

its hard as fuck to text while driving w/ the iphone. Generally I ask the passenger to return the texts for me.

I can imagine since it's all touch. I've made passengers do this for me before too though lol

ostampflee 07-18-2009 09:11 PM

Another reason why iPhones suck :)

You can have my E71-1 when you tear it from my dead, cold hands.

AJL 07-18-2009 09:48 PM

I will return text while waiting for the lights along blanshard but not while i drive. I find people here have a hard time staying in between the white lines on the road do i pay attention to them coming in my lane.

Super Dipper 07-18-2009 10:39 PM

well retard in a golf infront of me tonight on the hwy 1 just before the mckenzie turnoff driving like a tool in the middle of lines...all bc of paying more attention to his phone than the road.

i thought he was drunk. fuckin twit

That's a simple muscle memory thing though, and requires no prolonged mental effort to do. Texting is a constant thing, especially considering how long it takes to put together a sentence. I hate test messages at the best of times, but at the wheel is the worst. It takes you four presses of a button just to make a fucking S. Try texting the word Mississippi while driving and see if you don't crash. :P

TouringTeg 07-19-2009 11:02 AM

Did anyone find it ironic that the viewer who sent in the video was video taping and driving at the same time? lol

well if you ever get in an accident, i hope texting isnt the cause of it.

i just dont get why everyone is in such a rush, will 5 minutes off the road to text/talk really cost you that much?

TheSmokeShow 07-27-2009 09:21 PM

^The driver seemed pretty chill when I popped the door, sent txt's the whole time np. Probably telling his bff that he wouldn't brb.

I could drive with my knees on the hwy and not crash... but I don't.
