Connecting to wifi and having ports forwarded shouldn't have anything to do with one another...

yea i just realized that..

i haven't had any problems with other routers though.. so there must be some sort of setting in the router holding me back.

3turn off firewall, enable DMZ etc, on telus

was it able to connect before?
What happens when you try to connect to it?
Is the router able to see your device? Can it assign an IP?
What are the security policies in place for the router? (i.e. Is MAC Filtering enabled? WPA? WEP?)
What kind of security does the HTC Touch support?

i was never able to connect to the telus router. i haven't had problems with any of my friends routers or my old belkin. this is probably the only router i've never been able to connect to!

my ps3 and wii connect without any problems.

when i try to connect to the router, it shows up as being connected, but the webpages just won't load. i've googled around a bit, but it looks like the se567 and htc phone compatible was always problematic (it's a small combo percentage) and it doesn't look like anybody else has figured it out either.

my router can see my phone.

i normally use wpa-psk tkip

i've tried to connect without security and the firewall off, but still didn't have any luck. i can't recall if i've tried both methods at the same time, but i'll try again after.

does the router assign an IP address to the phone? if not then you might have to do static IP instead of letting the DHCP do it automatically.

doesn't telus limit the number of devices they allow you to connect to the net via their connection?

I have that same router...absolutely hate it. The WLAN always gets disabled for some reason. The signal is so damn weak too. so I bought a router to attach to this POS router.

i had a belkin pre-n for about 2 years w/o probs. i think it's slowly dying, so i changed over to this telus router since it was free with with my plan upgrade.

static ip eh? it is similar to port forwarding? i can do it on my laptop, not quite sure how to on the phone though lol.

i'll play around with it some more tomorrow.
