personally i'm a big fan of easy to eat foods during camping for obvious reasons. especially if you or others plan on doing some serious drinking. kabobs are pretty awesome for this but it you'd probably need an actual grill to cook them for ease. those handheld grills over a camp fire would work but with more effort.

paper plates and plastic cups. slices of cheese in tupperware so it's just pop open, grab and on the burger. also, marshmellows or smores if you're fancy. gatorade for mornings. advil. and a frying pan with brush. eggs for breakfast and it allows to you to cook way more stuff. massive breakfast omelette or frittata will make you the king of the camp.

oh and depending on your crew, coffee. and the accompanying means to brew it.

Hot Dogs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Really easy to clean, and the fat gives you good energy that lasts all day. Add bacon for breakfast, and whatever fish you catch for dinner :)

bring some yams if you like, throw them into the fire.
usually the bacon, eggs, bread..sausages...don't forget the rice. ;)

If you're a keener, you can make decent dinners ahead of time so they take next to no time to make.

Eg: I will marinate and freeze chicken breasts for camping, then by the time I get to eat them they are thawed out and can be thrown directly on the grill.

I'll do the same thing with pasta, pre-cook it, add sauce, then stuff it in a heavy zip-loc bag and then all you have to do is toss the bag in a pot of boiling water and reheat it.

My buddies with their chunky soup, kraft dinner and hot dogs are always envious of my meals when we go camping.

really if you know how to start a fire and have a few pots/pans you can pretty much make anything you would at home, just not as fancy persay

i'm a fairly rugged, well adapt camper/hunter though so i'm very pleased with the basics, so it's easy for me to get through most situations :P

camping I useually eat a deep fried turkey, alaskan king crab, burritos moose/deer. anything in the freezer section section from costco you name it I eat eat. Even get full lamb and pigs to cook while camping.

I eat better in the bush then at home actually.

haha i was acutall ythinking of shopping at costco and buying frozen foods so by the time we eat'm they will be either partially thawed or fully thawed :D thanks

I'm not trying to be gay, but maybe you should bring some actual fluid if you're planning to camp over night in this weather. Here is a basic list of some fluid that I would suggest:

- sun rise apple juice (4L jug)
- minute maid juice boxes
- water (4L jug?)
- Arizona Green Tea (99cents each)

It's good to keep the body hydrated, especially the day after you wake up from being drunk.

If you want any advise for camping food actually anything to do with camping let
Me know. I go camping all year mostly in the winter tho.

For food during camping I find it best have combined food with everyone I'm going
With. Everyone brings 1-2 appies for each day (costco ones are the best) cook
Them up and share the food if they are in a cooler they will stay frozen and are really
Easy to cook.

I have one of those 3 burned cook cheifs from costco those by far are the best/easiest
To cook on. The small coleman grills are fine just take a little longer to cook food
And it depends on how many people are going.

For breakfest I either make bacon and egg mcmuffins or put a spin on things and use
A flour tortilla shells and make snack wraps.

Now as I said I have deep fried turkeys/alaskan king crab I have a 30qrt pot with
Burner that I can boil water/oil with (the deep fryer is fun to play with when drinking
And have all those costco appies)

For the kitchen setup have a table my 3 burner grill and bbq of course, for the bad weather
We have easy-ups setup I got mine from costco but you can get cheaper ones
From canadian tire/walmart etc its great to keep the sun out of the eyes and a place to
Chill if there's bad weather.

Stop by canadian tire and get a propane lantern that runs off those green 1lb bottles. You have
To be able to see at night. As well get a axe you should always have one of those. Get a tire patch spray from canadian tire
(Better safe then sorry) as well a first aid kit is always needed. Get soap to wash your stuff oil for t
The frying pans. Becarful with the veggies in this heat cause they will spoil quick and you never
Know when you will need alum foil and toilet paper

Great68 07-22-2009 02:47 PM

I will freeze a couple pop bottles/big juice jugs full of water and use that as extra cooling in the coolers. Yes it takes up a lot of space in the cooler, but it will stay cold/frozen longer than bags of ice cubes, won't leak, and you can drink the water after it melts.

I take 2 coolers when I'm camping. One full of ice for keeping beer & drinks cold, the other for food.

Cheers

murd0c 07-22-2009 04:17 PM

I only drink hard booze so what I do is freeze the water bottles as great68 says and when I start drinking I melt some of the water pour it out and mix my rum and coke in it. Saves me the hassle from useing a cup as well I have a lid of I want to close it and the more I drink the less ice there is of course.

do it the old fashion way

simsimi1004 07-23-2009 04:44 AM

are u into korean pork bbq?
its reallllllyyyyyyyyyyy cheap and can easily season with salt.
If your into kimchi, you can cook the kimchi on the oil created by the meat, and its a perfect combo.

its a must have for koreans during camping/picnic etc. give it a try~
you can make a dip for it with seasamee oil, salt and pepper. proabbly like 7:2:1 proportion.

also for ur list,
i think Alum Foil is a must
Assuming you guys are having a campfire you can wrap yam, corn, potato with foil and put it directly in the campfire and let it cook and it will be amazing. Also Marshmellows/Smores~
and you can make a makeshift pan, cup, pot etc with alum foil.

how long you guys going? thats alot of food.

Hot Karl 07-23-2009 04:53 AM

earplugs

simsimi1004 07-23-2009 04:58 AM

sun lotion and mosquito repellent stuff...

do u guys have a planned location yet?
maybe people can tell you whats there and not there, tips etc.
