I thought the 3D was horrible compared to Avatar. The 3D was blurry and they over emphasized some parts.

Hrmm let me rephrase. The 3D in Avatar was simply stunning, but after a while I wanted to take my glasses off. I just feel AIWL did a better job in playing with us with their 3D.

anybody know how long the lines are for this one? how early should i head there so i can get some decent ( middle section ) seats ? jesus it seems like nowadays if u wanna see a good movie if you're not there 45 minutes early you gonna have to sit in the front row.

Past few days, it's been sold out so you should get there an hour early.
My friend went 30 mins before the movie and got stuck sitting in the first few rows lol

Just saw it in digital 3D. Personally I didn't think the 3D really added anything to it, i actually would've preferred to just watch it in regular non-3D. Not everything was 3D for this, and because it's so colorful and abstract, when a part was really 3D it like literally popped out and i felt like my eye balls were about to fall out by the end of the movie.

Other than that, i thought this was a good followup to the original Alice in Wonderland. They really followed close with the ideas and themes conveyed in the original novel. So if you've read the original Lewis Carroll book then you'd enjoy and understand it more i think.
I'd give it a 7/10

yo this movie sucked

Tim Burton's been slipping lately... This had so much potential but it felt like he rushed the 3rd act and forced the whole trading with China sub-line...

i'm so disspointed by this movie. Also anybody know if the 3d theatre in HK is different? They claim to be cinema 4k whatever that means, I feel that its inferior to imax... the only cool thing i notice is that the subtitles were 3d lol

this is taken from HK's MCL Cinema website - "Sony 4K Digital Cinema Projection System at MCL JP Cinema, with the 4 times higher resolution (4096 x 2160 resolution, 8.8m pixels) than 2K screening!"

I watched it there, it did seemed to be sharper than normal projections...

IMAX is better, but it's sold out all the time here.

The movie was alright, but I was more interested in the trailers - Shrek, Toy Story, and one about vikings and dragons (forgot name), all looked pretty sweet in 3D.

threezero 03-21-2010 07:55 AM

^ How to train a dragon. werd the trailers were good

Underdawg 03-23-2010 05:21 PM

Watched it in IMAX 3D opening day... but we were late so had to grab the worst seats in the house. First Row right side.

Overall the plot was on the weak side and they pulled out a lot of story from their ass... So Alice have to wear an armor and fight... ok...? lol

The 3d effects was.. meh maybe because I had a bad seating. IMAX felt the same as watching Avatar in regular 3D.

Me too the movie looks great, I just thought it would be epic. kinda dissapointed...

DeathChill 03-28-2010 09:13 AM

I also found it kind of boring, nothing too interesting or engaging going on in it.

SkippyLang 03-28-2010 10:04 AM

watched it on friday. trippy and awesome. 2 hours flew by.
