i had a very close call with the same situation, so every time i have to work on my car using a jack i make sure to use jack stands.

The car had been raised on one side but the jack gave way in the grass.

The Mazda was parked on a downhill grade.

The wheels were not blocked and the emergency brake was not set, police said.

floor jack and jack stands, only thing I can use that I can actually take of my 37's with.

wow... i would have imagined an older person to have more sense when it came to things like this


my buddy had his engine fall on him for his classic car, dont remember him being hurt though (it was just the engine not the car) think it fell off his engine stand or something

but anyway jack stands and those big hydraulic jacks with those long tubes etc for me

try putting something there to cover your wheels. I put a long piece of wood in between the car and wheels. Just don't ever use those cement slabs that looks like large domino pieces; I've seen one of those break when a trans am was "held" up with it....
