Anyone heard of Inteqna? or have any input with recruiting agencies

I get a call from someone from this company and they are recruiting for an IT position for a company that deals with the airport. This is the first time I am dealing with a recruiting agency, I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight on the process, does the company interview me as well or does the agency pick me for the job. Do they take a piece of my wage? Also, I got a call from a job that I really want, they said they would send me the time for a testing session near the end of the month. How should I bring this up to the agency cuz I really want the other job but I will not hear from them until the end of the month.

I believe that there's a period of time that you're sort of 'on loan' to the employer and that if they seem to like you, they 'purchase' you from the recruiting agency. Sums could be as small as a few thousand all the way to extreme cases of I've of like 10k.

sorry for the late reply, i applied on craigslist to a job posting, then the agency called me to come in for an interview, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. She did say that jobs are coming in less and less cuz of the bad economy, it was a contract position for 3 months and then they could extend the contract after it.

I went through an agency before (Kelly Services) and it was pretty much like a regular interview process except this was done externally.

Basically, for the people who don't know, most of the postings for jobs on Craigslist and Monster are by agencies hired by the company that is looking for workers. So, these agencies sit there all day posting ads and interview candidates all day. Most of them are legit and Kelly Services for me was pretty straight forward.

If they call you in for an interview and they hire you, you're as good as gold. But if they start asking for money and all that shit, I would book it out of there.

Job opportunities at an organization may use several agencies to post their ads. You'll notice this by reading the job descriptions as agencies compete against each other and postings are exactly the same, just different agency.

I personally had a bad experience with an agency where they called and scheduled me for an interview. I showed up to the scheduled meeting and the recruiter told me that the position was already filled but wanted to get more details on me to add to their database....They could of at least called me before hand or sent an email that it was filled.

Also, watch out where you send your resumes on craigslist because you never know who is looking at your information. If they don't post a valid company email address or domain website, I usually avoid those ads. No way I'm sending my resume out to makesomemoney@gmail.com

Typically, there are three ways that an employer will use a recruiting agency.

1) Temp employee. It's a contract set for x amount of time. Once the contract is up, the contract is up. During this time, you are an employee of the recruiting agency, not the company you are working at. The recruiting agency almost always does the interview with you.

2) Temp to hire. You work as a temp employee at the company, and this is your probationary period. The company looking to hire you on full time takes minimal risk. The recruiting agency does the interview with you typically.

3) Hired worker. You are hired by the company through the recruiting agency. You are interviewed by both the recruiters and the future employer.
